If 21700, I can recommend Samsung 40T
If 18650, Sony VTC6 or Samsung 30Q.I have both, but a little bit better results with the Sony
All these batteries are unprotected
Is there a specific reason you require protected ? If running protected wont be hit the highest outputs capable by the light as well as probably tripping the protection on the cell.
freeme, could you please send me a code for the ec01 5000k version and ec03? Thanks.
Also, do you know when there will be more stock? I saw that only the US has them in stock which is also more expensive.
Modern li-ion batteries have many safety features built right in. Most of us carry cell phones and other devices in our pockets every day that use li-ion cells. It’s not like having a protection circuit right on the cell somehow fundamentally changes the amount of energy they contain.
That said, I trust the protection circuity and logic on quality flashlights more than the ones installed on protected cells. The only problem I’ve had with a li-ion battery in years and years of use was a protection circuit on an 18650 randomly shorting out and melting a bunch of the wrapper. They are added by resellers and vary greatly in quality and safety - the original cell manufacturers do NOT offer protected cells.
u shouldnt run this kind of lights if u are scared of running it with non protected batteries high drain, if u know what u are doing and using good quality battery there is no need to worry.
With both having the green color as teased with the EC03?
It’s a bit too dark for me, but still better than Boring Black.
But the bigger hangup for now is the emitter color. I can live with a black body, as long as it’s 5000k, so when that option returns to stock, I’m game to order.
