Ah, maybe mudgripz or gadgetman, they both helped design the 2x I think. I’ve just come across them on a NZ hunting forum, never spoken to them.
Maxtoch offer some of the best hunting lights but cost a wee bit. It’s pretty hard trying to compete with my Osram C8 and L21A I sell but price wise it’s the better deal. I don’t think anyone can beat my service I provide though with lifetime labour free repairs after warranty has expired
Yep, that's them! I was reviewing and working with Maxtoch early on as well, but they took it heavy in the hunting direction while I was more interested in general use. They seemed like nice guys, though dunno if they they were selling or not - maybe casual selling to friends, not sure. Made it seem like NZ was a land of hunters though
Having Cu and Br C8 i doubt i’ll go for this monstrr heavy option again.
I’d suggest to make bare alu with copper section of driver/led/switch bulge like in MF03 mini
Update on the driver - it uses the T1634, as in the D4v2.
Now here’s the fun part - is Astrolux going to make the source code available, and the build used, as required by the GPLv3 license? Is there going to be a pogo-adapter made available, as it uses a non-standard pad layout, and can’t be flashed via a SOIC clip?
Tested pulling ~6.3A on a VCT6, too.
edit:: this was not a fun driver to get out. Short wires everywhere.
Using the 15H version check, the firmware version reads 2019-09-28 (this is also the same Anduril version date on the Meote FM1 Copper with Anduril)…

Any update on the FT03-Mini with Osram NM1 LED? Will it also use Anduril? And also, any idea what’s the max current consumption for the FT03-Mini Osram version (I suppose it has to use different power than the SST40/XHP50.2 which use higher power)
Yep, got the date - I should have checked before; so it’s version 446. Problem is though, what build target have they applied here? As of that build, the only T1634 hardware was the D4V2; is it a fork of that, or a direct “flash and go”?
What’s required is a copyright notice, a link to the code, and information about which config to use.
