Some nice things in the post today. Arrived from DX was an XM-L T6 on a 16mm star. I'm going to try it in the Mr.Lite J4 (Parent of the BLF light) since I accidentally dedomed the XR-E in it. If it doesn't work well with the optic, I'll put the TR-801 reflector in it instead.
Then there was the bored BLF light body from Hrvoje which has been about 6 weeks in the post from Croatia. It can now use a 17500 which should give a lot more runtime.
And then two envelopes from Manafont - again about six weeks in the post. There was a replacement Ultrafire U-20 for the one I've lost and a Mr.Lite LT3 which I liked the look of.
First thoughts on the LT3 were, it is enormous for a CR123 light. And quite heavy for an aluminium light at 113.4g with an IMR cell in it.
For comparison. Top to bottom, Ultrafire UF-H3D, Mr.Lite LT3, EastwardYJ J09, RCR123 cell
And here they are standing up. Trustfire Z1, Mr.Lite LT3, Ultrafire UF-H3D, EastwardYJ J09
The business end. It's an XP-G R5. The reflector is quite deep giving a fairly narrow beam of very good quality. There is a fairly heavy orange peel finish on the reflector which works well.
The threads are good, it has the usual Mr.Lite metal switch cover.
The beam, quite narrow. Tailstanding on the top of the usual door about 60cm from the ceiling.
Zoomed in on the beam - good colour. The colour of the beam looks correct on my screen.
Review to follow.
