What's the brightest drop-in available? I've seen 5* Cree R2, 6* Cree Q5 and 7* Cree R2 (Wolfeyes light). As of now, what's the biggest/baddest drop-in on the market?
In "neutral white" it appears that the XP-G R2 slightly edges out the XR-E Q5 - is that correct? I realize the XM-L almost doubles the amount of luminous flux but I don't see that drop-in available.
I am exploring some options on a DYI light for the first time and this is what I am trying to do is find a single cell 16340 nice and small sleek host body with a simple drop or screw in with a 3 mode Hi/Med/Lo w/memory for a XML-T6. If someone has done this I would appreciate the links for gathering said items or would I better off trying to purchase one. Thank you.
Problem is going to be current. You will need IMR or LiFePO4 cells for the current draw - it would not be wise (or safe) to operate it with ordinary 16340 cells.
I don't like the stock Solarforce switch and I don't like forward clickies for multimode lights - Solarforce sales can supply a different switch if you don't like the stock one (Or take the tailcap from an old-style Ultrafire WF-504B or a Uniquefire L2)
And some IMR cells. I've just got some from a cheaper supplier than AW on CPF, but have yet to test them. I have no complaints about the AW IMR16340s I have but they were a rather long way from cheap.
No idea who sells 16340 LiFePO4 cells. Which will need a different charger anyway.
