Thanks for your review, jmpaul320, well done ;)!
I hope you will be able to provide some tailcap measurements and also see how much the output Amp draw sags over time!
It seems that you love yours, good to know that its a decent light!
Cheapest one Ive seen is 47$ shipped, others sell at well above 50$, probably due to MAP restrictions.
One question - how is the PWM on med/low modes? According to review at CPF it says that it has ugly PWM on low and slightly noticeable on medium?
Also, Ive found out at this russian forum that someone has supposedly replaced its emitter with XP-G2 and that it uses some sort of sticky compound instead of hard one to glue parts together, so at least we know that someone has done successfull emitter swap!
Also, couple of posts lower it is said that Lumintop has confirmed that this light should work with 4*AA and that FT’s 4*AA holder will be used by forum member to try it out. Interesting…
I am sensitive to PWM - I do not notice any dizzying effects or flickering on any mode.
Good to know about the emitter!
And also good to know about the 4AA carrier option - this means the light should work fine on 3 AA lithiums and the driver will accept up to ~6v

Thank you for the nice review! It is especially interesting that it takes d cells and lasts 7 hours at 200 lumens.

I’m glad I’ve maxed my PayPal for now or I’d definitely be ordering one of these

Let me just add that one thing this light should have but doesnt is holster.
I would like to see NW/WW version released too.

Thank you for the review.
After my experience with Super Storm Sandy, I made sure to purchase 4 of the SD10.
To me the SD10 is a real emergency illumination instrument.
Cosmetic appearance, thousands of lumens and miles of reach is all child play in a real SHTF situation.

Great review, jmpaul 320!I think this is the ultimate bug out bag flashlight with a myriad of power options. The AA battery carrier is really disappointing in the fact that you get these carriers with "cheapo" lights.I'm glad to see that you couldn't notice PWM because it would be a definite deal breaker for me.Thanks for the review and congrats on the new camera, lol.

Still I will hold out and see what other SD10 owners say about PWM, there should be few of them here at BLF :D!

Here is a carrier you can use with this light running the 3 AA in parellel rather than series, for longer run time:

interesting! so with 3 eneloop you should get about 6 amp hours +/-
thats about half what a D cell is i believe but still another cool option!

Depends on the capacity of the D cell. You could use 3 Turnigy 2400mAh AA
