My Praetorian just arrived - it was opened up and passed by Australian Customs and Border Protection.
It is impressive, a big solid chuck of steel, picture do not do it justice to the weight and feel of it.
Smooth opening and solid locking very happy with it and will be getting a couple more
Very cool Strider clone KaiserSosa, that Anso pattern is just right for the blue/black G10, and by a master of the scales, Toads and Tanics no less. I’ve watched Tuffthumbz’s videos for a long time now and watched most of them, he’s come a long way from when he started. Very like Gavko a lot of talent and hard work but they are excellent craftsmen.
Cool mod! Is that a titanium version or the cheaper one with steel frame?
I’d like to try making a few custom G10 scales for my folders but I can’t find a good price for G10 or carbon fibre sheets with international shipping anywhere.
I suppose by now you’ve found out that G10, Kirinite, Carbon fibre and Micarta are expensive. I got a real shock when I started ordering supplies. I can get brilliant quality Australian wood knife scales delivered for less than half the price of G10.
JBSupplies I have tried and GPS Agencies. The other two look good but I haven’t ordered from them yet.
USA Knifemaker is a good source of parts like phosphor bronze washers but they cane you on the postage as do all U.S.A. suppliers. Knife Kits 1 skull lanyard bead $2.95 Shipping via USPS $16.40, about average.
If you want wood for scales, I’ve just ordered from ebay 5 x £0.99 (inc. post and pack) samples of hardwood laminate flooring, if they turn out to be good then they are a good source of cheap wood scales, already stabilized. Emperor Solid Tigerwood Bamboo flooring Lots of other samples as well.
Good luck with your search for cheaper G10 etc. it’s damned expensive stuff in the U.K. one of the reasons I’m going mostly for wood. Being a retired joiner helps as well.

Isti…here is a video Tuffthumbz made with his observations when he first got my faux strider…and to give you a feel for what it looked like before the pimpage…He concluded that the frame lock side was a lower grade titanium.
Of course you can imagine my horror at the time watching him take a flame torch to my knife on live TV !!! lol
This was 2 and half years ago when I got it…I think it was the second generation of basic Kevin John or maybe MG china-striders.
Since then,…as you know,…there have been many more fit and finish options introduced from the factory.
I have a couple of the titanium double gunner grips that I also like A LOT….
The cloning technology improved a lot the previous 6-9 months that’s sure. I’m amazed by the abundance of the titanium & bearing pivot system combos even in the sub $100 category.
Thanks, they look to be better than USAKnifemaker, $14 postage on 20 phosphor bronze bearing washers in a box that would have held 1000 easily. $15 items $14 shipping, twice over a three day period and I asked them to combine the orders, they said the first order had shipped but I got no confirmation until both had shipped on the same date. Don’t like to use them again and Jantz supply are half the price on the items as well.
