Is the 3x mc-e 3x18650 ~3A one you put together yourself or is this something one could buy somewhere?
and long distance beamshots
The shutter speed was 3 sec, but the iso rating only 100, overall a little bit over exposed. (full moon's light on the background)

it's a "homemade" flashlight
Well I'm impressed forget the shutter speed.
How much for one like this?
Or for this one? That's a bright thrower.
How would something like a Trustfire 3T6 compare to that?
That's a good question. I don't have one but maybe someone who does can chime in.
Thanks for the beamshots .
to the first post and pictures, camera settings was the following: 1sec shutter speed, and iso200
And I think my 3xmc-e light is almost the same as the new triple xm-l flashlights, trustfire sky-ray etc..., maybe a little brighter, becasue my light sucks over 3A from 3 pc 18650. I use relative old cells with this light (~150mOhm internal resistance), because of the direct drive. It could be to drive easily over 4A/emitter with newer cells, but I dont want to overstress them.
This google translate helps me alot, but I know it's not perfect. :)
Ok I still didn't get my questions answered. Do you sell these lights are would you build a guy one? If no, I understand. Just curious.
Nice beamshots, nice 3 x MC-E too. Quite noticeable donut though. Surprised that the 5 x Q5 did not throw as well....you got the more recent versions? (only the first batch was driven aggressively)
For those who wants to buy the 100mm diameter 3 x MC-E, can try PAlight BG-03 and XTAR D31 howitzer. Expensive though.
Sorry, but this is a hobby for me and I do not want to sell or build more.
Yeah, it would be better with xm-l -or a better reflector- but when I made this light, there was not yet only mc-e. It's a DX triple reflector SKU 11922.
My tr-1200 with 2 cells goes 2.5 ampere, it's ~ 15W or more.
Earlier I made ceiling bounce test, and tr-1200 performed "35" relative value, and the C8 clone xm-l's score was "40" at 3.5A. The throw capability is almost the same for the tr-1200 and C8 clone.
Well if you change your mind let me know. I would pay for a light like that if it is reasonable.
hi! viffer750, Could you show a picture of this flashlight? xr-e 3x 44mm lens (I'm impressed).
thanks.

Your triple Q2 aspheric seems to be able to comfortably outgun the SR90. Do you have access to a lux meter?
Yes, I have a cheap one from ebay, lx1010bs. I don't know how accurate this. I think it measures higher value than the real (20-30%). I have only relative peak lux values from 3 meters.
x2000 Q5 1.3A ~ 2300
C8 clone xm-l 3.5A ~ 4300
TR-1200 ~ 4300

xr-e 1.5A 44mm lens ~ 9200
