Here's a pic of the driver on the $12.99 Red S2+ from GB, definitely looks press fit to me. It also pulled only 2.02A at the tail on a 25R...probably a 6*7135 configuration.

This is the old design, and the spring loks a lot cheaper than the “original”.

I would contact Convoy and ask, if this is a fake or if they make those for resellers

What tint did you get? They were supposed to be 4C but they sent me a 1A.

Other colors would be nice… especially purple. Deep dark primary purple or dark magenta plum purple, not some light pastel shade. There are far too few purple lights in the world. And dark turquoise.

I have a red S2+ with a XP-G2 triple, 10508 optic, and FET+1 driver, and it’s one of my nicest lights. 0.3 lm on moon, 2250 lm on turbo. Great flooder, and the best biking light I’ve ever tried. I’d totally make more if it came in other good colors.

the spring is definitely a cheaper flimsy spring than what is found usually on the 105x drivers.

It's cool white, just ever so slightly cooler than many of the "1A"s I've had before, but still a cool white.

I am a Straight guy and I like red flashlights, even purple ones. Pink eh not so much.

It looks different than what you have pictured, stronger spring, four 7135s showing, each 90° apart, Brass retaining ring.

It looks like the one that RMM has pictured, but his is 6X 7135.

I believe they are for removing the pill from the head, when I did try unscrewing it with the pill out of the head, it would not budge one bit.

I’ll hold off and wait for a blue version. It does appear that GB is selling clones based on the comments made by the guys

I have also bought the GB special with the 4C colour. I refer to chuckhof for the description, to which I would like to add that the driver is soldered to the brass pill. I definitely would not be happy with that S2+ from GB. The build looks pretty inferior. I’s buy all by Convoy’s from Simon.

Mine's from GB (GearBest) but has brass retaining rings, just like chuckhov and Henk4U2 have.

It sounds like there may be some confusion over what “GB” is. Sometimes it’s “group buy”, sometimes it’s “GearBest.com”. If I understand correctly, the units from gearbest might be an inferior clone of the original Convoy light.

Can we get Simon to help us convince Convoy to do some production runs in different colors?
The rumored blue would be nice or even Olive, Tan or Safety Orange would be awesome!
