Red S2+ flashlight ,for girls, for your lover

I’ve contacted Simon via Aliexpress.

Can somebody please PM me he’s email address?

Herewith he’s cryptic feedback:

“hi ,because the weight of each parcel can not be more than 2KG
so i sent you two parcel ,the second should be returned
i will resend
what ’s your new address”
——————————————————————————————————————

4-5 weeks ago I’ve received 2 parcels, 1 for batteries and 1 for flashlight accessories & 2 x Convoy S2s. The other items mentioned above has never arrived.

From Simon’s reply I understand he splits the items into multiple packages because of the 2KG limit. I did not know this, but still, my flashlights never arrived. He also implies that this parcel will be returned to him? Why? Did he specify the incorrect delivery address? He does not specify any information and I also don’t have tracking numbers.

He also says that he’ll resend the flashlights when he receives the returned parcel. This implies that he has not yet received it and that I’ll probably wait another 4-8 weeks before I’ll see it, if any!

I’ve recommended to Simon that he gives me a refund for the full amount of the items I did not receive. I’ll then place another order from him in the near future, when it suites me. I’ve also requested ALL the tracking numbers for the parcels linked to this order. None of these are properly specified on my order.

I believe its not fair for Simon to put the liability on me to wait another 4-8 weeks for the flashlights. I have no idea what went wrong! Did he specify the wrong address? Again, why was the parcel returned? I’ll wait for the tracking information.

I think he means:

"I've sent you 2 separate shipments with flashlights.

IF the latter shipment does not arrive, it will be returned to me."

I don't think he says he knows that the shipment is returned, but that it will be returned if it hasn't arrived yet at your place.

Shrick, how did you pay for the order?

Marc

CC, if it was PayPal I would have opened a dispute. I really want to force a refund here as I’m totally left in the dark. Don’t have tracking numbers, don’t know in how many parcels the order was really broken up in, don’t know where the “lost package” is now. And this costs me almost $250, possibly down the drain - 16 Convoy hosts.

Here I must praise e.g. FastTech. I always CLEARLY know how an order ships out, with tracking numbers, with photos of the parcels.

The worse part is that Simon sells GREAT products, which I have lots of interest in. As you can see I’m also supporting him well. I really hope he’ll accommodate me here with a refund. As Simon said, the chances of him getting the lights back is very good, I’m just not willing to wait this long, not now.

I need tracking numbers! This will obviously shed some light on the subject.

Give Simon a bit of time.

bought again.
I just hope Gb sends me the real s2+.

Ok, so Simon gave me a refund via PayPal. I had to pay the 5% fee, but I’m accepting that.

Thanks for sorting this out Simon, I appreciate you understanding and accommodating me. Thank You.

PS: I see Simon does not list the Convoy C8 host anymore? Can this be?

Glad to hear this is all sorted.

Marc

Thanks Marc

okay so this seems to go on:

Just received a red S2+ from gearbest. It arrived IN the Convoy Box, but its fake. Fits all the pics in this thread PLUS theres not a single 7135 visible from the battery side …… . So it gives me on high a whopping 1,1A …… .

I received just what everyone else recently did - squashed tiny box with fake S2+ inside, aluminum switch, slightly beaten up anno on the head, no brass ring inside head

Will send PM to CS gearbest ASAP.

When did you order yours?

Yup, same here both S2+ lights are crap. I ordered mine on July 14. I PM'ed GB yesterday and got a reply overnight. Make sure to take a picture of the light with packaging and also another with the insides of the light showing. Seems like Gear Best are going to right by us. Sucks for people who don't know they got fakes ... they might think convoy is low end light.

This is really confusing to me. I see post after post going way back in this thread about people receiving fake Convoy S2+ lights from GB. Why is anyone still buying them there? “Mommy it hurts when I put my hand in the fire!”. If you’re in the US and need it quickly buy it from Mountain Electronics and be assured you’re getting the real thing. I bought one from Richard and it’s a beauty. If you’re anywhere else in the world buy it from Simon at his Aliexpress store http://www.aliexpress.com/store/330416 and again you are guaranteed the real thing. I’m not judging. I’ve been suckered in for a bargain many times but I’ve never purchased from GB and I can tell you that based on this and similar stories I think they’re off my list.

Seems like Gearbest took a shortcut towards making a quick buck. IMHO, it appears that they sourced their Convoy S2+ elsewhere than from Simon.

I ordered mine on 10.06.2015, a while before people started to receive different S2+, some got original, others fake ones.

Ive also made pictures of all the things wrong with it and sent PM to CSGearbest here on BLF, lets see whats their take on it.

I also sent pictures of damaged Xiaomi MiBand band teraing apart and they couldnt see anything wrong with it so had to redo pictures to explicitly show where the issue lies.

Also, switch on my fake S2+ is finicky on mid and high ALL MODES - the light will not have constant output, like theres some lack of contact inside the switch thus making it flicker.

Gold blue/purplish tint, damaged anno, LED that is not centered, aluminum switch, cheaper internal parts, no brass retainer ring, dirty threads inside of the head.

So on a happier note, here is the latest from Simon. I guess I’m his unofficial spokesperson LOL. The blue S2+ is going into production. He sent his blue sample to his “manufactory” for production. That should take around a month and then he will be assembling the new blue beauties. He will be selling them on his Ali store once they are ready. Victory is ours!

Good to hear that :D!

Now, I wonder whether I should request GearBest to resend me original light(given that Sumone received fake one in original box?) or request full refund and simply order red S2+ directly from Simon?

Initially, the $12.99 deal at GearBest was a great buy - I bought one, a friend bought 5 for gifts, etc. -- all were good, except maybe the driver retainer ring wasn't included, but could have to do with the 7135*8 configuration - not sure. Anyway, quality was standard Convoy - brass pill, SS button etc. Then sometimes later, the fakes were being reported, so GB obviously changed sources. You could call it bait&switch, or the usual thing retailers/suppliers do to reduce costs, or make money where they weren't making money before, or was a straight scam by the retailer or supplier - dunno.

Then finally, GB marked the Red S2+ out of stock, now they are back in stock - I assume they are the real ones now? I don't know. I did some serious complaining to GB about their Sharp Eagle XC model (Warsun X60 look-alike) - false advertising of Neutral tint, SS bezel, AR lens, etc., and now I see they show out of stock on that model as well, interesting... Actually I can't find the listing of it anymore... Weird.

All I do know is GearBest has taking stretching the truth to a whole new level. The lumens claims we expect, but all the other claims now is just false advertising - plain and simple. They know what we want and they make sure the listed specs say so, regardless.
