Simon has told me many times that his light is often counterfeited. The quickest tell tale sign is to look inside but as good as Simon is to us and considering he really is "the little guy" it is always worthwhile to directly from him - even if a couple/few dollars more.
Can’t go wrong with Simon or RMM. I’ve had good luck with FastTech Convoy C8’s so far but otherwise I tend to be wary of GB and BG etal; all it takes is one bad deal and you’ve lost what little you thought you were saving by buying from them.
Just did (for resending a real one). I hope they get this roght. The fake one’s spring is so poor I am sure it will ‘melt’ or suffer some kind of failure on medium setting (400—500 lumens)
Thanks all for posting. I figured it was only a matter of time. I agree with all the people who’ve said to buy either directly from Simon’s Ali store or from Richard at Mountain Electronics. Those are my go-to guys every time. I’m reporting all this to Simon. Gearbest should be cutoff IMHO but it’s not up to me.

Just got a PM from csgearbest. They have shipped me a replacement (with tracking) Waiting for it to appear. Hopefully, it is a legit one. Happy with the outcome although annoyed with having to wait 1 more month.
I’m fairly certain that the next one you receive from them will be real. They have far too much bad press to risk botching this. A month delivery time though? You could just demand a refund and Simon would get you one in half the time. That’s just my opinion of course…
No idea what Gearbest would have done, but the posts, pictures and follow up on what Gearbest CS puts it past “whining” in my book. There has been little trust in Gearbest here lately, for good reason…
Look dude, I would have taken pictures and a video independent of me posting here. Why? They normally require proofs with images and video. I had it taken and uploaded to my dropbox already. I am not here to post this information for people like you who have no need for it but to the other forum users that might find such information useful. This can help users to see 1) what is a real convoy. 2) what gearbest is still doing 3) what their CS is doing and ultimately 4) the outcome of it.
Trust me, only PMing csgearbest or paypal PROBABLY would have been faster. Maybe my thread helped; maybe it did not.
