I recommend 3B = neutral white. The 1A has a slight blueish tint, the 3B gives more natural color rendition, especially outside.
3B (5000K) is always a safe choice, you won´t notice any brightness difference with your eyes compared to 1A.
Hope this helps,
K.

Has anyone stuck an XM-L2 or XP-L in their X6 or X5? I’m curious about the beam profile in their reflectors. It’d be fun to have a bit more flood.

Agreed, I think you will like the 3B tint. I have both and Kusie stated the NW (3B) tint is better outside.

Kusie and Bret H,
Thank you for your valuable input.Appreciate your quick reply to my post.
I went ahead and ordered the Al set with the 3B tint.
Hopefully Banggood gets it right and ships out 3B tint.

I really wish someone could help convince Banggood to reactivate my SS/Cu code or send me a identical replacement code, so I can actually get mine. I know they didn’t send it because the tracking number got deactivated and they refunded me with no hesitation, after 2 months of waiting. They’re really nice lights, just not as enticing at $199 USD.
I bought the Astrolux SS … $40.76 (plus shipping) using all possible points
I ordered it with the 3B tint, I hope Banggood has sent the correct tint… and the flashlight will work fine.

If you don’t mind buying them individually they’re both on sale at the moment for a total price of just under $100.
Astrolux SS (SS/Cu X6)
Astrolux SC (Cu X5)
EDIT: Updated flashlight names for clarity.

I have 1403 points. If I use them, would have paid a bit less $79.87 (plus shipping fees, $6.95).

I can’t imagine not playing with my X5 for that long. Thanks for providing us with great information Joat!
Awesome. It looks like the estimate of about two months was pretty close. And I’ve noticed on mine that the tail starts growing visibly dimmer when the battery is ready to be recharged. That quick drop at the end is how I know it’s time.

Thanks, Joat. Great information, it also helps me decide on the resistor values of my own lighted tail mods

That would be nice, but they’re branded with Astrolux, not BLF/Kronos, and they do not come in a nice box. I think I’ll keep pestering Banggood till they relent.

I’d like to thank Neal from Banggood, for sending me a new code. My trust in Banggood stays true, at least for now.
