I know man I’m trying to stay awake so Simon can confirm a few details. I’m not trying to tease anyone I swear. Please hold on just a little bit longer. This is torture for me too!
All mod you can do after all is a dedome. This came as stock as a modded one Very nice. I did not wanted such a big light but now I found myself in this topic every hour…
Is the amp reading 5A? That is nice.
Also, a spring bypass right out of the factory is very nice too, but I won’t have any use if it isn’t done right. It should be done with atleast 20(?) awg wire.
Wow this is really cool! A custom hot rod modded light from the factory! This is outstanding for the people that want a modded light with out all the cost or hassle (waiting in line) of having one done by somebody or the cost of the equipment! Direct from the factory, I like it! Here’s one for you “J” and 2 for Simon!!
To be honest, I don’t know how it would perform, I’m just afraid it won’t do its job sufficient.
For us blf’ers that’s not a problem since we can mod it. But for the rest of the buyers that don’t know what modding is it isn’t an option.
So let’s say I rather be on the safe side.
Nevertheless, I’m really happy that Simon went this route! Can’t wait.
Thanks KawiBoy. Without you and others like you to answer my questions on the technical end this would never have happened. As you pointed out, some of us absolutely love these hotrod lights yet don’t have the budget, equipment, skill or time to mod lights ourselves.
This and any other light can be made better or more to specific tastes by a skilled modder. That said, I’m happy to be part of bringing lights that are at least close to modded lights performance-wise to the people in my boat at budget prices.
I will ask Simon but to be honest this is not an ideal light for 18650s as they would be drained very quickly. The XHP70 is quite power hungry and we are feeding it well with this high current driver. I would recommend investing in a pair of hi-drain 26650s for this one.
