Boruit RJ-02 headlight... 2 thumbs up...

looks great this small light pity that it has no memory for gesture turn on off and it always turns of in high mode

the elliptical tir lens with xp-l led would be great stuff but if it always turns on on high by gesture you have to press the bottum with oily hands to dimm it down which is not ideal

When in sensor (gesture) mode there is no dimming of the light. The next touching of the switch turns it off if it’s on and takes it out of sensor mode. If it’s off while in sensor mode pushing the switch takes it out of sensor mode and leaves the light off.

so sensor mode can turn it only on to highest mode not to last mode right ???

yes

Nice and cheap. I like it.

I got mine yesterday. I charged 2 batteries in it and both came off at 4.18 volts. The current draw went from .5A to 0.05A when charging but I have no way of monitoring what the voltage was.

I bought 4 of them and they are worth it

The led tint is good but the output is shit. I’m have swapt the optic with 60* flood beam which is very pleasant flood.

Planning to mod this lamp to pump more lumens as the body can handle more heat .

Has anyone open up this thing?

Ah… So I would love to know. I’ve heard it is not easy but I believe one member did get it open. Resistor mod?

I will give it a go this weekend
I think the first thing is to remove the plastic tube inside then the rest can slide out
This lamp have much more potential then the stock lamp and it’s not bright enought for my liking.

Tear Down (and upcoming mod) - Boruit RJ-02 Headlight (Pic Heavy)

I got 2 of this one works one has strange issues I open it up and there you can see the driver and led it’s easy to mod but I got no oder what parts wrong in mine and what parts could be changed to better ones to get more lumens. I guess just the led alone won’t make a big difference

Like mine, but it’s a bit weak. Lurking here waiting for a mod

Good LINK , thanks for posting.

I honestly can’t figure it out from the posts. Please can anyone tell me how the LED is hsatsinked? Is there anything behind the pcb when installed in the light? Thanks

eebowler,

By the little board it’s attached to — look at the pictures at the linked “Tear Down’ thread — see the picture with the caption that says

I saw that and hoped i was just misinterpreting the info. Thanks

I received mine…and i can say the output is really nice, i think a headlight can be max 300lumens…going higher can only decrease runtime, and here there is only space for 1 battery…not 2 or 3 in parallel.

I think for this little price this is THE HEADLIGHT. Microusb charged well it…voltage perfectly 4.19v

Wow I missed this light! I’m going to have to pickup a couple (a 2nd so when I screw up the 1st one I have an extra).

Several prior threads discuss this same light.
I got one a while back, put an elliptical TIR

into it to make the beam spread out sideways, and it’s reliably useful.

I ordered and just received two of these lights. Of course now that I have them, I see that GearBest has them on sale for $8.99.

Since I also recently received some XP-G emitters, would these be an upgrade to the noname emitter in the light? I’m not looking for huge output, but if the XP-G is more efficient, the battery will last longer while working or hiking.
