Hello everyone. I have some great news that I am excited about and I want to share. I am about to be 37 years old on 5/24/12 and I will be moving away from home for the first time. My wife and I are both attending Liberty University Online and we get Government grants and such. With this money we can live on our own in an apartment in Lynchberg, VA. We have done all the number chunching and such. My dad is going to loan us the money to move (Uhaul rental etc) and we have the deposit for electric and apartment deposit done. We can pay my dad back in mid July when we get our college money to live on.
The only thing left are the little nicknacks like small living things like toaster, blender, etc....stuff like that. Mom is giving us her old livingroom stuff and the washer/dryer. She said she wants to replace those items anyway.
As you know, I am legally blind and this is a big step of faith for me. I am excited and nervous at the same time. We can start moving in as early as 6/6/12. I feel a little strange asking this, but I guess you do not know unless you ask. The people here helped me out a great deal with the VisionWalk on 5/6/12 and raised $500. Would you be willing to help out in the move as well? We will get college money in July and again in November that we can budget and live on, so we should be just fine. It is the up front costs like moving, deposits, little nick nacks like silverware, plates, pots & pans, etc that we need to get.
If anything I thank you for your prayers, advice, and words of wisdom. Thank you all in advance for caring and treating me like family on this forum. :)
I am in the process of uploading the video we took about all of this.....so everyone can share in the excitement and also as proof, that way I can be honest and upfront and I can ask for help with a clear conscious.....so people do not think I am blowing smoke or trying to be dishonest. :) LOL
Congratulations! I wish you the best! My wife got her Master's degree through Liberty University Online (graduated May 2010). She made quite a few trips down there for classes and I went a couple times. We even went back for graduation (what a huge event!). We were both impressed with Liberty's Online program and highly recommend it to others.
