Nice looking little light, approximately 1mm larger than the Shiningbeam S-mini in both length and diameter. Hopefully that means thicker walled. Also waterproof, choice of modes, tints and reflectors!. Rated at 600 lumens and 1.75A, so harder driven than the S-mini. Nanjg 105C (5*7135) driver.
Well it certainly looks very familiar https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/7533#comment-156676
I finished building that kit a few days ago and so far I'm very satisfied. I do hope that IOS version is not sharing same problems as kit from cqg (especially battery tube)
Thanks for the post, I had completely forgotten about the host kit from CNQG and problems with the battery tube are serious. Can you expand your comments a little? We have run into similar issues with the Roche F12. Only one of my 8 battery brands will fit in the tube.
- Did you try various batteries? Were any protected cells able to fit?
- Can you provide ID for the tube?
Well protected battery would not fit at all (I have only hi-max and xtar) Inital diameter was only tenth or two above 18mm. After filing down diameter is approx. 18.8mm and now xtar (and hi-max) fits without problem. Apart from battery tube problem regarding ID it should be noted that things are quite tight lengthwise so I had to use shorter spring for tail cap. This problem occurs because inner threads on both tail cap and head part are anodised and electrical contact is made trough battery tube which has to be screwed down completely against both retaining ring in tail cap and head to ensure contact. Removing anodisation from part of inner threads would solve this but it might be little tricky to do that...
Despite all of initial problems it's still a very good flashlight and currently my favorite for edc (perhaps because of modified luxdrv firmware for 101-AK driver )
Thanks. Yes, Xtar is one of the ones I had problem with on diameter with the F12, but only due to the sticker over the shrink wrap. Hi-Max are the fattest cells in my collection. Xtar is also one of the longest 18650 cells as well.
I had luck with Solarforce 2400mAh and Trustfire Flame 3000mAh, but these are still very tight lengthwise and they have smashed the spring somewhat. Even if my other cells fit one way, they would probably be too long. I have that issue on a few lights with the Xtars.
Very little difference in function, internals and size, huge difference in looks. The no-name also offers a choice in reflectors and would be a good EDC. The F12 has that great yellow option but is a pocket shredder IMO.
I quess I could turn the question around on you - what's the difference between different brands of P60's?
bezel stainless vs. alu, tailcap cut-out vs. non-cut-out, double o-rings vs. single o-rings... but check battery compatibility (diameter) on both before thinking about purchasing them.
Good point there - many flavors of P60 hosts. It just seemed that both lights are very similar except for the outside appearance, and I was wondering if I was just missing something or plain stupid. FWIW, I'm partial to the F12 myself.
I bought one of the LXP 18650 1.75A XM-L 600lumens Flashlights from this website. Just came in last night.
I paid for the neutral white and picked the “high-med-low” mode option.
Something is wrong with it. It doesn’t change modes. At one point it started to cycle, and then it stayed stuck in 1 mode from then on. Solder work on the driver board is poor quality. I’m going to have to tear this thing up and try to resolder it all. Not too happy about this purchase.
