WUHAN, China -- A Chinese online vendor was accused of sending a set of funeral clothes to a customer after she posted a negative comment when she received the wrong product.
The college student received child-sized funeral clothes at her home in Wuhan, central China's Hubei province, earlier this month, the Shanghai Daily newspaper reported.
She claimed they were sent by a store based in Guangdong province, southern China, which uses the popular online shopping site Taobao, because she gave it a bad rating when it refused to refund her for a skirt she bought.
Taobao -- the Chinese equivalent of eBay -- launched an investigation into the claims.
The unhappy customer's boyfriend said they received several anonymous phone calls from Guangdong, but the caller did not say anything.
