I’ve been searching the forums here for for the Stick style flashlight And I have found a few reviews about it and lots of talk about modding it but I haven’t seen any modded yet.
Has anyone modded one of these yet? If so with what?
I just got mine yesterday and it was less then half an hour I had it torn apart. I do t have a lot of skills with soldering and I’m not all that hip to emitters and drivers and currents and stuff but I love to tinker.
I put an XML drop-in from a zoomie I didn’t really like to much, added more wire and put in some tin foil around the drop-in for more heat sink.
Needless to say (I shouldn’t have expected much) but its not too bright off of 1x 18650 battery.
Now I’m thinking of getting 2x C123 batteries to up the voltage.
I rigged up 2 18650’s to test the light and it was real bright but I do t really wanna get into machining the body of this torch out to get another 18650 in there unless someone has an idiot proof idea I can try.
Also, should I change or keep the driver? Would it make any difference?

Now that my big question is done, I want to thank this forum and everyone here. I stumbled across it one day after I bought a “really bright flashlight” from a hardware store. And now have over a dozen or so torches/headlamps in my house/ being shipped.
