Been thinking about it for a while and finally decided to just buy it. I took my lap-top apart and gained 6 18650 batteries. I never used that laptop anymore. My Ipad is safe since there are no 18650s in it.

A mount would definitely be a challenge.
A $10 C8 hitting the pavement , not a big deal.

Am I the only one who is cringing at the thought of using old laptop batteries in a high current multi-cell application? They’re unprotected cells, right? I haven’t pulled apart many laptop batteries, but the ones I have disassembled had protection circuitry that was independent of the individual cells.
In my opinion using them Is fine as long as you take some Extra precautions. I use exclusively old laptop batteries in all my lights except for a few xtar that I use in my homemade lights in case of a short.
Single unprotected cells in single cell lights, sure. No big deal to manage properly. But multiple old unprotected cells? It’s an “I never thought this could happen to me, because I was careful, but obviously I wasn’t careful enough” story waiting to happen.
Anyway, I’ve done my duty now

Well, what I do is I use well matched cells with similar capacity and resistance in my multicell lights and then replace the batteries at 3.6 volts. I'd call that safer than using trustfire flames. :P
I agree. I got some of those trustfires and I would wager that a high quality laptop battery is safer and better in everyway.
It was only $59 shipped from DD so I had to do it. They have been shipping very fast lately so I rolled the dice. Hope I win.
I was on their site looking for a Solorforce L2 light but thay Sky-Ray just kept nagging at me. I am one of those that tried to buy for $23 from that Ebay scammer so I just compleated my purchase.

As for TrustFire, or any other Fire, I don’t trust them either. But that’s probably a somewhat unpopular opinion around here, though. But what can I say? I spent a few years as an RC enthusiast before becoming a fresh out of the cage flashlight nut, and as such I developed strong opinions about batteries. But, well, they’re opinions.

Kreisler doesn’t work for DD, he has probably cost them money with all the discounts and tricks he used to order. He is the master at getting a deal.
I have had my ups and downs with DD but right now they shipping items faster than Manafont. I actually tested it twice in the past couple of months. Placed orders with both and the DD items alway came at least a week sooner. Hope they keep it up because right now DD is on track to rebuild their rep with what I have seen.
It has come to my attention that this light on high would be too bright for oncoming cars. Since it is only a two mode and there is no sense in putting such a large light on my bike to use in low mode, it won’t be a bike light. Right now my Fandyfire 2011 is serving a wonderful role as-bike light. It is nice and floody and I think the strobe mode are handy for a bike light. They call attention to you if needed.
Got the King today. It is too big, heavy and bright to make a good bike light. My Fandyfire HD-2011 has been doing great in this role. I am very impressed with the King as a flashlight though. It is a beast and my brightest light to date. I don’t envision ever needing more light than this sucker can deliver.
wow u received it so fast, mines gone missing 8 weeks still not received it yet apparently they gonna send me antoher one i rejected it unless its express post 2-3 days i am not waiting another 2 months lol
