Anyone got this XML flashlight from BIC

BuyInCoins has this XML (as advertised) flashlight for 11.89$

No additional details or reviews yet. Anyone already got this ?

Is it real XML with 1300 lumen output ??

My brother has this light, he bought it back in March and loves it.
Not a xml, it’s a Q5. But I swear it’s every bit as bright as a C8 with a R5 .
His has a aluminum o.p reflector , instead of the plastic ones commonly found in lights in this price range. Excellent thrower and a very nice spill as well. The finish is a real nice matte black. O ring’s were all where they should be and the threads were clean & reasonably well lubed. The internal charge circuit does what it’s supposed to do. (shuts off at 4.2v ) But I highly recommend using protected cells. The switch has a solid feel to it. Not mushy , but not hard to press either.

If the current batch is as good as his, it’s well worth the asking price.

XM-L and 1300lm? Never!
800lm, if you have good cooling

Well, let’s be honest, Match got 1450 lumens out of a XM-L. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, good deal. But not an XM-L and nowhere near 1,300 lumens. Has to be Q5. At this price, these should be able to move like hotcakes! They are all over ebay.

Sardion master confirmed its not a XML. BIC details wrong.

may be they over drive it even not a XML.

But not in a flashlight

Bought one of these off ebay, not XML but a pretty good thrower. Can’t say I have used it much yet, I bought it to try out on a rifle for night hunting, as well as a couple of other lights. Still waiting for a chance to give them a run.

It is very well made for the price, I got mine in a kit with the home and car charger and two blue Trustfires for about $18 AUD.

Bought it Here

I think they would make nice gifts for someone who wants pretty decent light and is just starting out with rechargeables.

It has a very tight spot and almost no flood or spill though, so the beam would not suit everyone. Much better quality than any of the cheaper LED lights I have found in local shops here so far.

If you buy it, be careful you don’t loose the rubber plug that fills the charging port, I lost mine the first day, well night at least :S

Here you have C8 with XM-L for 13$

I just bought this. I’m hoping to sell a few and that the output will at least give a Streamlight Stinger a run. In my experience, it doesn’t take much but a good battery to have nearly any XR-E do that.

How well does the charging port work? How long does it take to charge it?

AH-HA !! This is the thread I was looking for…

Pavithra_uk : The led star is 16mm & the driver is 17mm
Ought to be a real smoker with a XML & 7135*8…
HMM, wonder if Rick would let me do his… :stuck_out_tongue:

Scaru, I haven’t used this light much, other than to make sure everything worked. It charged a cell to 4.2 volts, but I didn’t note how long it took. I unplugged it when the charge LED changed colour. I also don’t know if it terminates then or keeps trickle charging.

Both 240V and 12V chargers are branded Bowei, seem reasonable quality, and have a rated output of DC 4.5V 400MA. so slow and safe charging it seems.

I didn’t dismantle it to find where the charging regulator is, but I assume it’s in the switch assembly where the charging port is. This piece adds a good inch or more over my other similar lights. Switch feels ok, small but positive clicking and not too hard to press.

Contact is made via a standard battery spring soldered to the driver, so one more point of contact to keep an eye on.

Threads are all pretty good, well cut and reasonably tight. Could use some lube in general and thermal goop around the pill.

The reflector is plastic but quite ok.

Front glass is nice and thick with an o-ring. O-rings on battery tube and tail cap. Reasonably watertight, but I wouldn’t count on the rubber plug in the charging port stopping water. Mine fell out somehow, although it didn’t seem loose when I checked it out. Guess I bumped it somehow. I now have an open port and a hole where the other end of the plug was supposedly retained. I will put some gaffa tape over it when I take it out.

The tail cap does not swap with any of my other lights, so finding a remote switch might be a problem, otherwise it would make a reasonable cheap hunting light kit with a suitable mount. Certainly good enough for a knock about rifle in any case.

Sorry, I don’t have my light meter handy to give some comparative lux readings, but it’s much on a par with other similar sized Q5 throwers.

I ended up buying This One to mount on my night kit. different kind of light, its an XM-L with a decent remote switch, but all the threads are really over cut and thin, parts are loose until tightened up. I will have to be careful not to thread this one, or knock it about.

This looks like an upgraded version of this kit, with an insanely deep reflector. Looks nicer IMO. Probably better quality. It is more expensive though

Also This One

These looks better. if it real pics, may be better build quality too.

Yes, looks like an alloy reflector on these ones. No cells though.

I have bought from this seller before, one of these sellers before, several times. They are honourable. What you see is what you get. Redlog, cyberport, Keygos are ok

I have no experience with those sellers. I brought some goods from BIC & Tomtop. quality is acceptable.

Actually didn’t brought so many flashlights.

Brought C8 recently (XP-E, Plastic reflector, thrower) Good build quality

Tomtop is annoying their ebay sellers have lower prices than their site. :stuck_out_tongue:

My dream is buy Sky Ray King. still no luck :frowning:

Update:

Still didn’t received this flashlight. will post pics once got it

Why dont you buy it from dinodirect (King), use 10% coupon etc. I think they have lowest price, las time I checked.
