VapeSafe?

Hey guys,

I was just randomly browsing the web and stumbled upon this:

http://www.thevapesafe.com

Its a snap-on 7A fuse for LiIon cells, designed for vapers but that doesnt really matter, does it? Smile

I read its a simple melt-fuse.

Anyone had any experience with that? I mean, its a pretty simple protection, so maybe useful for unprotected cells.

It costs around 5$ (but 9€..)

It’d be cheaper to buy protected cells…hahaha

Yeah, I'd buy a bunch for a dollar each but at that price it simply isn't worth it.

I think you have the wrong link. That just links to the retailer list.

I mean, if you are spending 5 dollars on a cheap unprotected cell, then spend 5 bucks on protection, that’s 10 bucks. And you could get a namebrand protected high capacity cell for that!

I think the point is that you can switch it from 1 cell to another. I may be mistaken though.

And there are some cells you cant buy with protection. Like most of the 4.35V cells or IMR cells.

Look lower on the left side below the retailers listings.

It would just be bad for me, I would always forget to put it on and stuff. And the safety outweighs the cost to me. But for others, I’m sure they have a purpose, especially like Nightcrawl said about IMR cells and the 4.35v cells.
