MRV q5 multimode to single mode modifiction help

I have to change the stock MRV from 5 mode to single mode. Any easy way to mantain regulation of the present driver?

A also happen to have a:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26110

Extracted from the DX R2 dropin...

By reading the forums it would put the Q5 at 1,2A... Should i be worried? Q5 should be driven at 1A max.

Heatsinking of the MRV should be fairly good...

Nevermind, i just swapped the driver and is pulling 1,12A at tailcap. Due to circuit loss i believe im not drawing much over the specs if at all.

If someone is curious, the manafont mousetail (momentary switch) without the endcap version fits the torch, not perfectly but good enough.

I run my MRV @ 1.6A (tailcap reading). I think the XRE will hold up @ 1.9A if well heat sinked. Some are running them @ 2.0A and 2.1A. Someone on CPF did a graph that plotted current vs lumens a few years ago and there wasnt a whole lot to be gained above 1.6A as I recall.
