Assistance for a first time mod

I bought a very cheap aspherical lensed light a few weeks ago, it wasn’t anything special by any means, it was about 60 lumens the beam patterns had a donut effect on full flood and looked very square on full throw which wasn’t very tight to say the least. Whilst pulling it apart and finally managing to get the retaining rings out i accidentally separated the generic LED chip fro what looks to be a driver, but once again this is my first mod so I wouldn’t know. Anyhow, it’s now broken and that gives me an excuse to modify it to be much more usable. I was thinking an XPG R2 emitter off ebay would do the trick? If you need anymore details just ask and any advice is welcome. I will post pics later but I am currently busy. It’s a 3x AAA powered light.

If you want the tightest beam with the most throw, you may wish to consider the XP-E or XR-E due to smaller die size and greater surface brightness.

And the aspherical lens would help to produce flood also? Would the aspherical lens then in theory help give even more throw if combined with say an xre q5? Im liking the sound of this already.
