Reverse clicky to forward clicky conversion possible?

I’m planning on getting a Solarforce L2 with reverse clicky switch then get an L2-S12 tailcap to make it tailstand. Problem is the S12 comes with forward clicky but I prefer it to be reverse. Is it possible to swap the internals of the switches so I could put the reverse switch on the S12? I need your feedback before purchasing. Thanks!

I suspect this will work: http://www.solarforceflashlight-sales.com/product_detail.php?t=FA&s=18&id=421

(I’ve also had success stealing reverse switches from other lights and putting them into SF, so if that one didn’t work for some reason, you could probably fake it some other way.)

I was hoping I could cannibalize the reverse switch that it came with. I do hope it fits. It will be my first solarforce light.

Will this: Reverse Clicky
be interchangeable with this?: Forward Clicky

I saw this video I think it’s interchangeable. I just need someone to confirm now.

You cannot modify a reverse switch into forward switch, or the opposite.
But with minimal soldering skill you can swap any of them in most flashlights. Dimensions are similar, sometimes a little diy is required to adjust height by means of plastic shims or similar, and/or rubber button needs trimming/shimming inside, but otherwise is pretty straightforward.

I like forward switches more, so bought some from DX and swapped into all my torches which weren’t. C8’s and Dry were the last I modded.

Try the forward clicky for awhile before you change it out, they tend to grow on you.
I don’t have any objection to either of them anymore, they are just different.

Totally agreed with troop.

I am planning on using a SF 5-mode xml dropin for the L2 and I think the forward clicky might be a pain to use especially when changing modes. I do have a klarus st10 with a forward clicky and I admit, I like it a lot but that’s because the mode button is separate and I can just press away the switch and never worrying it would change modes. But I’ll take your advice and try it out first. I guess I’m just to used to using my xintd and UF504B with their reverse clickies.
