Yes, cool white looks like a 2D cartoon picture with pronounced edges. The only thing missing that it paints the outlines black. Wink

apt323,

Thanks for the kind words. This is why it’s so difficult to take beamshots. The eye reacts to the light; the camera merely records it. Comparative evaluations by eye level the playing field a bit.

Your welcome Bob

Sometimes when I read comments posted on BLF that bulb (led bulb) comes on it my head and I say to myself, self, that is exactly how I fill but could never put it in words that anyone, including myself could understand. I have typed many post and never hit the save button because I could never make them make since to myself…. Probably just like this post.

Just bought on impulse a Maxtoch ED5R-7, it arrived today, what a great little light!!, nice and bright on AA, the blurb on the site said, “50% brighter with a 14500” which I took with a pinch of salt until I tried it, and boy, they weren’t kidding, lol, amazing output from such a little thing.
Very nicely made, put in a bid on an ebay auction and got it for £8.
Isn’t it good to occasionally get something that EXCEEDS your expectations!

Jake25 is offering up the L3 which has an xpg2 in the newest run. I don’t think it supports 14500’s though. It’s a twistie with no memory so I bout a bunch Smile

I’m glad I’m not the only flashlight collector out there, I was beginning to think I was strange.

Are these any good to you? http://www.cg.tuwien.ac.at/research/theses/matkovic/node17.html

Don’t think you’ll get one at that price gords, usually the winning bids are around £10-12 when I’ve tried in the past.
The “buy it now” price is around £20.
But, no harm in trying, lol

not exactly budget but I spotted this one a few days ago.

…although I am not sure whether this might be a misspelling because I never saw a ITP A2 or any ITP with a XP-G2.
Maybe it is a special edition as in the XP-G S2’s or it is a custom one… :quest:

Thanks for the finding! I think this is more about picture brightness than about point sources.
I already came to some sort of a conclusion about flashlights in another thread.
But thanks anyway!
