Help needed

Hello,

i’m interested in buying a flashlight that will give me good illumination at around 300 meters range. When I look at the stats of the flashlights it gives my info in lumens but I dont know how to translate that into distance.

Any help or suggestion on appropriate flashlights would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Welcome to BLF! I would recommend the HD2010 which runs off of 1 18650 OR 1 26650. It is around 35 dollars shipped from the US.

That’s a good suggestion, you can’t go wrong there. Just do it.

I don’t have an opinion on this as I have no experience with big time throwers, but I did want to say, “welcome to BLF, Mottig.” I will say that if scaru and Lancjl were telling me a light was good to go, I’d listen to them.

Welcome to BLF, Mottig! I too suggest the HD2010.

Seems like a consensus is forming, Mottig.

Welcome to the forum. Better wait for Foy. He knows best.

It's a pleasure to have you onboard, Mottig!

I agree on the HD2010, it’s a good thrower, but you’ll need a battery and charger too.

If you want to go even cheaper, check out the Jacob A60. It throws just as well at the HD2010 (meaning same lux), only it has a smaller hotspot and less lumens.

Bien venido!

Oh, man! That was funny! Probably sign it, “Foyknowsbest” too!

Thank you for the help,
I’ve been looking through the Tmart site and I found 2 more flashlights that I prefer, but other then the extra battery is there anything else different about them?

i don’t think so, where do you see there’s an extra battery with it?

the first says in power supply and in the second under battery configuration, also the second is 2 and a bit inches longer. does the extra battery change the illuminating distance?

Both list only the light under package includes. Sometimes there will be a few more lumens with the 2nd battery . . how much depends on the driver (if the specs state Amp draw or lumens you can get a relative idea; actual lumens are often less than the specs state).

I am far from being the most knowledgeable around here, especially when it comes to throwers. "Good illumination" at 1,000 feet is no small thing. An HD2010 might have the reach . . . ILF would probably know better.

Just taking liberties Foy, I hope you don’t mind.
