Has anyone been to the Solarforce shop in HK?

I have a friend who is visiting HK at the moment and I am wondering if he can go to the shop and buy lights. The website suggests that you can go there but I wanted to see if anyone has been there.

Have you tried emailing JO?

I usually get a reply in under 3 hours. He must be an insomniac.
Good luck!

The Solarforce shop is at 176 Apliu Street, Ground Floor, Shamshuipo, Kowloon.
If traveling underground using MTR (mass transit railway), head for exit A2, turn left and walk about 20 meters. The Apliu St. was once called APPLE STREET 3 decades ago when the APII components such as MBs, cases, floppy drives, PS and green monitors were populated.
By the way, head for other exits will guide you to GOLDEN COMPUTER CENTREs cluster.
The address mention by EDC might refer to other business as Solarforce is so popular in many
segments. I know Tam Kung Rd. It is near to my home and it was once populated with factory buildings and other industrial establishments but now replaced with new residential and hotel buildings.
A couple of years ago, a kind BLF members did posted some photos of the Shamshuipo outlet shop with displayed items quit different from what we have now. Quite interesting.

Might have been me? I posted a bunch of the Fulidat Electronics store (it’s just past the McD’s) about a year and a half ago. Nice place, lots of camera accessories on the left side of the store. Last time I was there I squelched the urge to buy another light and just got an aftermarket lens cap for my girlfriend.

… now if only DX would invite me and my camera inside…

EDC: I wouldn’t really recommend sending your friend out to the address you’ve provided. It’s near the old airport, and the trains don’t run out that way.

Fatlokwok’s directions will lead him to an addicts haven. If he turns left and goes to the end of the street, the last few stalls have rings, clips, holsters, etc.

Turning right there’s a few good sources for batteries (XX eneloops for HK$110 / pack or ~USD $14), battery cases, AA->C converters…

Thanks all. Now I have to talk him into going there.

I think I will go to HK next year. Mrs Edc seems keen. A friend of a friend works at one the casino’s in Macau.
