Has anyone here ever have had their paypal limited?

My account got limited, now i cannot do anything, it has been a while actually, but i never really cared till now since I need to buy off ebay and cannot use paypal. The way to get my account back is so stupid, since i cannot proof my address, i do not have ANY bills what so ever, parents pay, lol, and i cannot close a limited account. anyone have had issues? also they are so slow to respond to anything.

I hate paypal. I don’t use them in fact - they are completely boycotted.

Years ago, I did pretty big volume through paypal. 10K to 30K per month. It wasn’t uncommon for me to have 25K sitting in my paypal account. I remember receiving a chargeback from some scammer for roughly 20 bucks, and they put a hold on my entire balance - over 20 thousand dollars. Three weeks with no access to 20 thousand dollars because of 20 bucks. Once they released my funds, I withdrew them, and I haven’t logged in to paypal since. Not once.

As for getting your limited account unlimited… Good luck. Some people have had success by actually calling them, but I wouldn’t bet heavily on it without being able to provide the proof they demand.

PPtk

I wish I could get mine limited

Ther a loada -b-ankers.Pay Pal has become almost a necessary evil.

DON…

Calling them might be the best way. I have used paypal for years. Once ebay took them over, I haven't had a problem with them at all. They are better now, than they were, but sellers beware, just as in ebay, the buyer is ALWAYS right, even if they are a low life scammer.

If you have no proof of who you are, then you're really not there, LOL. Use the parents PayPal, if they are paying anyhow.

Sorry, but paypal can be too strict sometimes.

yea besides calling them. I just made a new account, be sure to use a different credit card/debit card and you’re fine. I can’t remember what happen to my old one I think I fell for trading, “send as gift” dispute. You can prove their scam but somehow they are willing to work with paypal to get that 10 bucks back.

making a new account I think will be the only way to go, or I wait a few months till i start getting loan bills or something. I scanned them my ID, but they were like its too blurry/unreadable, trust me, they were just lazy, lol. I see this as a problem with people that use paperless, you are pretty much out of luck. apparently someone tried to access my account in a foregin country so they limited it for my protection, now I got no paypal, lol

Yes they limited mine coz i got near to their limit (think some 7k)….before i could “continue” i needed to send in a scan of my IC (both sides dammit! They are crazy as if they are loansharks), PLUS a copy of my credit card bill from a major bank (local or Citi/Amex etc),

In the end i just did it….unwillingly. An ebay exec from Hong Kong (HK phone number) called me to thank me though. Funny, not ebay Singapore. heh….

The only reason i can think of is this stops money laundering between countries. shrugs

Had trouble a couple of times myself. The first time, I tried to edit the address so PayPal and my address on the credit card statement matched. They froze my account and blocked the credit card and told me it was now impossible to ever use that credit card with PayPal again.

I opened a new email, eBay, and PayPal account.

This account was frozen twice too when I tried to make large transactions. A real pain, but got it sorted within about a week.

I never linked my paypal account with my bank account just a credit card so it was frozen when I hit their $7,000.00 limit. The only way they would reactivate my account was to link it to a bank account so I just closed that account and started another one using a different credit card and email address.

Make sure it’s really Paypal not one of the many spoofers with fake websites who email you trying to sucker you into submitting your info. Read the URL carefully and hand type it don’t copypaste.

I think we need to be careful on this. Ever had your bank funds suspended? It ain’t fun, but when it happens, it’s almost always because your account is believed to have been compromised. I have found that if you treat your buyers like gold, you never cross Paypal. I’m sure mistakes are made, and no system is perfect, but if ebay didn’t err on the side of buyers most of the time, people just won’t spend their money there. I’ve had no issues with them. And everything ebay does, there seems to be a reason for. So I think we need to be as selfless as possible when considering any such matters, especially if we’d do the same for our banks.

I have had my account frozen twice now. Kind of sketchy since they asked for SSN verification….At any rate, I use my Drivers license as proof of address as well as Personal verification.

Do you have a license yet? Or even an ID?

If ur making a new account. Also get a new mobile number, maybe a pay as you go number or something cuz they seem to like to link cell phones to accounts.
