non flashaholics flashaholic light

Had some friends around tonight. I’ve not seen them for a year so the lights had to come out.

They were really impressed with the uf-v3 and want something similar.

I trust my mate with lithium’s so I’m thinking of ordering an xintd c8 nw for both of us and some torchy cells and charger for my mate.

Any other suggestions? There’s no rush on this btw, I won’t even be ordering till December.

H) SolarForce is tops in my books! Get a host of theirs and go to KD and get a dropin 1,000 Lumens etc. So, $20.00 > gets a great host and $13.00 for a drop in. Total $33.00 tops> or $18.00 + $12.00 = $30.00< and these will totally blow all the other expensive lights away! Can spend more and get less<! I like the 18650 cells. :bigsmile:

You won’t get 1000 lumens from a P60 sized light, unless you go multi emitter. I have no recommendations since I’m mostly into higher end lights now though.
A single xml P60 will give you around 700 lumens, but that’s still quite a bit. But small diameter head = less throw.

You can get pretty close, the E1320 that Foy reviewed was pushing 900+. Just depends on how hard they are driven. I have one from kaidomian that is way brighter than my SC600. I would say that it is 850 to 900 lumens. Some of these drop-ins are getting pretty bright!

Hey, gords:

XinTD is always a great choice. I also agree on the P60. Solarforce has some great combo packages going now:

The new U2 drop-in is a good one.

I have a couple of P60 drop-ins that are brighter than my SC600 as well. I’d say they are definitely putting out over 800 lumens. The thing is, though, that even the well wrapped ones sag much more quickly than the SC600, so for extended use they are actually a little less bright. But I don’t notice it visually, so I don’t really care.

This one also has the U2 and is very bright with nice tint and can’t beat the price;

Thanks for the responses, forget p60’s though, I just plain don’t like them, period. I’d take a q5 c8 with duff threads over any p60 light.

I appreciate the u2 link, does not ship to UK though. Sad

I think I’m going to go with a nw xintd c8. With them having nanjg drivers, they also have low voltage protection and mode choices. Much as I love my budget eBay lights, buying for someone else is different.

I was just wondering if anyone could throw a curve ball in the mix.
