Problem with Nanjg 101-AK-A1 next mode memory

Hi.
I installed this driver yesterday and it worked as expected!
it had memory, so if you turn it off, it would come on at the same mode.

But it had 5-modes, including strobe. which I dont need in this light.

So I decided to solder the right 2 legs on one of the chips, to get 3-mode.
that worked.

but…. somehow the memory has been screwed up.
Whenever I turn off the light, next time it will come on in next mode.
I guess that there is something wrong.

can someone help me out?

Just for reference, here a photo of the Nanjg ak 101 driver (picture from intl. outdoorshop)

Ah… it looks like the memory only kicks in when the light has been turned on for a certain amount of time… dont know exactly how long.
So, when I only used it for a few seconds, and then turn off, the light would come on in the next mode.

if someone knows how long it take before the memory kicks in, please let us know

In my experience with NANJG-drivers: just a few seconds after a mode is set, so keep it just a bit longer in the setting you want to be remembered, then turn off.

Hallo Djozz,
yes, I just figured out, its about 2 seconds before the memory is activated…. at least thats much better than next mode memory

I got this driver from Fasttech and in the description it says “Short D1 and Vdd (+) to get 3-mode”
Not sure exactly what they mean but I guess this is incorrect?
Just wanted to ask before try and fry
