3.6 earthquake in southern IL>

10km WNW of Mount Carmel, Illinois, 2012-11-20 23:28:22 UTC about 30 miles east of me.

About an hour ago, kind of a low boom, very light shake.

Musta been kinda cool I suppose, getting a taste of california!

I just witnessed a SUV on Motorcycle accident yesterday, was the car behind the motorcycle. Guy broke his leg and when my brother(the driver) went in for a statement this morning(he was first on scene, called 911, sprinted to the fellow motorcycle rider) he said he lost his foot. I’ve always wanted to see a serious accident, luckily this was not serious enough that someone died, woulda been pretty sad.

It’s crazy to hear of a natural disaster other than maybe flooding where I live in SE WI. No earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes. Sorta got tornadoes, but they are semi rare and aren’t big at all. And those usually happen way up north or way out in the country.

You might need to lay on a couch and talk to someone……………

3.6, were you able to even feel it? :P I was right near the epicenter of the 5.9 one that hit Virginia+DC. :)

Also, here’s the USGS’s world-wide/auto-updated as quickly as each minute/zoomable worldwide map of seismic activity LINK

Very informative: let’s one know where they might not want to next move…

Makes you wonder if it’s such a great idea to drill a bunch of really deep holes in the ground, set off explosives, and pump lubricant in & out.
