you want throw? how about this one for low $$

i wonder if this real 1900 lumens… or maybe someone could do some magic with this thing
a lot of room for DIY

Don’t know about initial lumens, but it might not be able to hold 1900 lumens for long even if it is well driven - look at the mass and surface area of it, it’s tiny.
Insufficient heat management = loss in efficiency and brightness <— this actually occurs in probably 85% of lights, but would be more prominent in this one.

Also, this will not throw very far. Even at 2000 lumens, it would have around 20kcd (around 5 times less than a K40 or TN31). Due to the small and shallow reflectors which merge it has a small surface area, thus resulting in minimal throw.

You wouldn’t want a bicycle light that favours throw over flood though, unless you’re riding on roads maybe.

Daylighter, this is basically your Sky Ray S6 in a different package. Probably 1500 lumens max, maybe 1800 if it's driven harder. The limitation is again the battery pack. I don't believe their claim of a 6600mAh pack at this price point and you are probably going to wind up with the same limited run time. Notice that all these 3 XM-L lights have the same descriptions? None list run time specs. At least on e-bay, that's so you can't call them out on not living up to their claims and demanding a refund. These are now popping up all over, but basically are a poor design, so you're starting to see price drops and inflated claims in an attempt to move them. Avoid - there are too many other good choices out there.

shoot… wrong link…
i meant this one…

massive reflector

That light is less throw, more flood, a well driven C8 ought to throw further.

If it's anything like the S6 or other 3 XML bike lights, it won't throw far. Not nearly as far as a HD2010.

Also, if it's like the S6, modding might not be possible. I can't remove the reflector or pill in mine.

But neither are practical.

Cool thy lumen lust, friend! It shall get thee into much and diverse purchases! :stuck_out_tongue:

too late for that… never ending quest for the perfect flashlight already cost me almost $400 this week alone
just got e mail from ebay… i just won this hid flashlight

hid flashlight 45/65/86 watts for $108/ free shipping
actually i was just bidding high enough but less than buy now price… i got lucky

The 8” lantern is overpriced. Personally I’d get this one, 9” reflector, and make a lipo battery pack to run it.

I don’t think you could get a more powerful thrower. Sometimes you do see them on sale for cheaper too. I’ve seen lit for $179.99 with free shipping before.

this could be use for fun
