I have a brown spot....

I kind of like the cheap DSLR camera I got at Christmas, but I’m not sure if I want to take any more close ups of my emitters… Here is the XM-L in my Eagletac D25C clicky. There’s a brown spot and some tiny dirt specks or something. A cool thing though is how the surface looks like it is yellowish with purple areas… what is that?

I like it better like this

Also, you don’t realize how cruddy the lens gets in your pocket…

Or even how hard it is to get it completely clean after washing it off…

But I can hopefully get some good pics now. I frequent zoos and my wife has a cupcake business and I can’t wait to take some pics of those  Here are some better pics of the D25C as I try to figure this thing out.

Thoes close ups are gonna cause you to see every little defect. Put the camera away before it's too late, LOL.

In my experience, those little brown spots on the dome are flux splatter from them soldering the leads to the pads. They should pick/wipe off easily.

As for the bluish purple areas on the lit emitter, it looks like inconsistent phosphor coating on the emitter. If you were to dedome an emitter and accidentally take some of the phosphor off of the die in the process it would look just like that. That is the first pic I've seen of that with the dome still on the emitter.

whew! when i saw the thread title i was really a little worried……

Hah! I thought the same thing.

I always wanted to reply to threads based simply on the subject line. Would be a heck of a lot of fun to do! :p

For this thread it would be "Change your shorts and wipe your arse!"

+3. We must be carefull about discussing brown spots. scaru has the ultimate fix.

well, as a senior citizen i just naturally thought….

sorry for hijacking the thread.

There's only one suitable solution. ;)

I can’t believe that title was misconstrued

But I’m thinking the spot on the emitter is a out of focus speck on top the dome. The blue areas are cool though. I need one of those little bellows….

I was going to suggest a bidet… with a motion activated Nichia 219 light built into it, of course… Nichia 219 Motion Sensitive Piss Light

I was slightly scared to click that link, I though it would be a bidet with a nichia attached...

I haven’t Nichiaized the bidet… yet. It’s on the list…

Nichia colonoscopy.
