How to add a link to a specific post number

I see sometimes members add a link to a thread and tell you to go to a specific post #. This will describe how to give a link in your post that will go directly to the specific post # that is being discussed.

First, Move the cursor over the post # in the thread.
.
.

.
.
Then right click the post # and click Copy shortcut.
.
.

.
.
Now you can simply right click and paste the URL in your post.
The link should now take members directly to specific post #.

Jan.9, 2013 I need some batteries. Can anyone provide me with a valid coupon code for FasTech?? I thought this thread might be handy for members to post the latest valid FastTech coupon codes for easier purchasing...or maybe some other format?

However, you can do the same thing easier by selecting "Copy shortcut" from the popup menu shown in 2nd screenshot.

I usually click the post# and then click in the address bar (entire URL is automatically selected), and right-click -> Copy. Oh, and in Firefox instead of "Copy Shortcut", you would choose "Copy Link Location".

This is just me testing on my ipad. I just put my finger on the post number, touched copy, and pasted it here. It seems to work.

I do that as well. Is it because we’re silly old buggers for doing it the long way instead of the short way?

Does anyone else find a link to a post doesn’t always work if the thread is more than a page long?

I only see that problem with the links I get in the BFL emails (I get email alerts for post updates). They seem to work for a random amount of time and I always suspected they worked until someone deleted a post or perhaps edited a post.

I noticed if i have a different posts per page then the person who posted the link, then the link doesn’t work and i have to play with it until i have what they had when the link was posted

The only way I can get here or anywhere on web is on on my Galaxy III and I haven’t been able post any pictures or paste any links and its driving me nuts.
