CR123A Floody Light Suggestions?

Looking for a Budget CR123A Floody Light that has a good clip to clip it to the brim of a hat. Looking to spend around $40 Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Chad

I am looking for a light I can clip on my hat for doing close up work. So I would like it to be floody enough for up close work.

Would this (WK21) work:

?

Looks nice however the clip it facing the wrong way to clip it to your hat.

The clip looks right however I only see them for $50 that’s a little more than I wanted to spend.

Many clips are reversable (at the least, temporarily) so keep that in mind.

Sounds like maybe the Olight S10 is worth a look? Very small and light. Head-up clip like you want. XML emitter is quite floody. Think fasttech has the best price currently.

As has been said, you can always remove the reflector for total flood. Believe Olight sells diffusers for the S10 as well.

I was looking at the olight S10 baton but I wasn’t sure if it would be floody enough for close up work. I will have to give it another look.

Any small headed XML will be fairly floody. Flood/throw is related to the proportion of emitter to reflector. XMLs are large emitters, so they need a big arse reflector to throw well. Conversely, small head/reflectors will be floody.

Also, any XML with the reflector removed will be PURE flood. This gets rid of the hotspot completely. Obviously, this reduces range, but for up close work it’s great. Diffusers achieve similar effect, but will cut down on output a bit in doing so.

Hope that helps.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.
