Agreed. I'd thought of a similar thing. I always have plastic bags when I'm camping or something, so i just stick the head in a white bag. I've never done it for very long though, so I dunno if the head of the light gets too hot whether it'll make a plastic mess.
Anybody know exactly which lights it fits? I'm surprised it fits L2s and 501s since they are both quite different.
Fits the L2.......not 502 or 504. I'm waiting on a 501 so we'll see if it fits. It's a DX order so it may take a while.
It looks as though it replaces the complete head whereas the Solarforce version replaces the bezel.
Any chance of any photos?
LOL, I'm not using a milk jug with my Solarforce as a camp light unless it is a last resort!
The solarforce one replaces the head as well.
I have a Solarforce one that only replaces the bezel. The head and lens stay in situ. I've had it a couple of years.

I bought mine from ITC and it came with an L2 head and bezel so I always think of it as a single unit, it's the same as yours :)
I just wanted to tell you, that the “lantern head” I bought from KD does not fit any of my flashlights. I got two 501 from DX and one 504. I wrote that at KD as a review and no one can read this, except ME, when I’m logged in…. That’s bad behavoiur!
