UltraFire M5 CREE XPG R5 1-Mode Mini LED Flashlight(1*AAA)?

Is this the first true XPG light?

UltraFire M5 CREE XPG R5 1-Mode at$14.63

Nope - the Preons from 4sevens were the first AFAIK, but they weren't really budget lights. Nice though.

I wrote a review of it a while back.

What do you mean with first? Under $20 in AAA form factor? But looks like a sweet find if it really is an XPG. The clip looks like a 2-way one. Twisty or clicky? The tail looks a bit weird.

The pics are pretty awful, but from a closer look (double-click on the big picture) it looks like a clicky.

Only one mode :( I need at least a low and a high..

Yes it is a XPG R5 because Manafont has it?

The manafont pics look clicky but description says twisty. XPG for sure. Nice light. Will it take 10440?
Shining beam has ITP EOS A3 with XPG

That's going to cost us in the u.k $27.75

It's an interesting design. Too bad its only one mode.

That looks like a sweet little light. And a very nice QTC host if it is actually one mode twisty! I may have to order sometime:)

Ordered one from Manafont.

P.S.: extended smiley test.

Glad to see that you're following best test practice with your extended smiley test, Vectrex

All good tests should always start and end with a beer......

The following ebay link has better picture and specs. Looks like 10440's are OK

See - http://cgi.ebay.com/Ultrafire-M5-CREE-XP-G-R5-LED-AAA-10440-Mini-Flashlight-/270751801837

The pictures all make this light look a lot bigger than it is. If you check the sizes its just half a millimetre fatter than a Tank007 701/703 but 5mm shorter so its a tiny light. Its the same length as a ITP A2 EOS but slimmer by over 2mm. If it does push 700mA through that XPG R5 then 190 lm's seems very realistic re output.

Oh dear. Just talked myself into another purchase............

$24 including shipping from hkequipment, even if you are in the UK.

This light should be in my mailbox at home. Very excited! But I am on holidays for another few days so I won’t get to play with it for awhile.

Mine arrived today from Manafont (ordered on the 13th), it is a very basic one mode twisty not a clicky, works with both AAA and 10440 but much brighter on 10440, I ordered the 10440 batteries also (Manafont SKU 6109) but I think a protected 10440 would suit better as these unprotected cells are a tiny bit shorter than a duracell AAA and i had some contact issues until I used a small magnet spacer.

I don't understand a AAA w/ xp-g? The problem with small lights is not enough reflector to product a hotspot, and xp-g just exacerbates it and you can't draw enough to take advantage of 1.5A anyway?

I received mine as well a couple of weeks ago. Very nice little light but I don't have any 10440's to test it with :( Its still about as bright as my maratac AAA stainless on high on a no name alkaline. My complaints: the 'head' portion is two parts, and there is no o-ring on the bezel portion. Also, if you grab the wrong portion of the head to twist it on/off you can begin un threading the bezel portion. Otherwise, I love this little light. A nice clip too! Maybe just maybe if i get some free time I'll do a quick review. I apparently lead a busy life :S

Not too impressed with the clip on mine, it is bent "too flat". The XP-G emitter is recessed 2mm behind the reflector, a lot of light is lost that way. Mine has 2 O-rings between the 3 sections. I don't find the 2-part head to be an issue, because you can "feel" where to twist, because of that hex design on the middle segment.

THe b3 N-light in stainless steel is another AAA xpg light ..it also comes in a neutral too. but kinda pricey at 30$
