Convoy L4 driver mod - LD34 - BTU shocker driver?

So the L4 that I received seems nice draws about 2.5 Amps that I can measure.

It appears to be the same driver in the BTU Shocker, an LD-34. Situated slightly differently.

Odd, because the Shocker has 3 LED’s in series rather than a single LED.

Has anyone had success modding this driver? There is a resistor right on the negative led wire that is marked r025.

I stacked four r120’s there. Barely could measure an increase in brightness or current.

From the’s BTU review thread:

If it’s the same driver as that in the BTU you’ll need a greater voltage source than 1*18650 to bump up amperage with a resistor mod. Still, I dunno if the L4’s driver is identical to the BTU one and can accept the voltage of 2-3S Li-ion.

It looks the same with the vertical board stacked instead.

BTU Shocker’s one is 22mm, how about the L4?

It’s about 23.5mm.

Trying to find my camera charger so I can take some detailed pictars

It seems that it is a fairly good buck driver, where the output must be less then the input which is how it is run in the btu, im not sure if it is constant current, or constant voltage, so i dont know what the resistor values will impact, but i have to wonder if it might be able to handle more then one battery for one led output? That would really depend on what sort of voltage regulation it has for the mcu i assume.

The driver is buck one, do not expect to work like a linear driver, the input current is not the same with the output current.
