Both are very good lights, (tank e09 and the olight i3s) if he wants one with a nice clip, definitely go with the olight, if he doesn’t care for the clip then I would recommend the tank, its cheaper and both are nice. I carry my olight mainly because i can clip it to the side of my pocket so it doesn’t get scratched or banged around as much.
I got my i3s from amazon for about $20 shipped, the tank from ebay for $12 shipped, not sure about Canada though.

Probably is, seller is top rated, plus u can use paypal for protection. Keep in mind you can get it in many colors and the stainless steel is nice when using on the key chain to keep it from getting scratched and scuffed up, but my red one is sweet looking.

I also vote for the Olight i3s. Because I’m risk adverse, I’d personally avoid Ebay and spent the extra $4 and buy from HKE or someone else I trust. The link is to the page that has all the colors; look toward the bottom.
HKE also has the non “s’ versions as well in case you like that better.

My I3S has a nice tint, but it’s true, there is great variation and some are greenish. The E09 is a good flashlight, but its regulation is bad, very bad
Yes I am a tint snob but it’s a keychain light and not for me. Any other options for a keychain AAA with a good tint and good driver ?

My i3S is a beautiful 4C~ish tint. I think Kreisler may have spent too much time at the disco with the flashing lights and such.
Personally I’d go with the I3S but I seem to have good luck with the tint on the Thrunite Ti/Ti2 if it is tint you seek. My original Ti Firefly even has a warm, almost creamy tint.

i love the tint on my Thrunite Ti too. i abuse the light quite a bit and i have nothing to replace it with. my e9, e12, ld1, a3t, worm and stuff are imho too nice to be abused on my keychain :)
I got a purple i3s for USD16 as a gift to my wife.
I personally use a blue Fenix e05. Great, small and simple AAA light.
