I saw my first 18650 battery in the Tomtom Go 710-910 series of GPS units which came out around 2007. I have seen some units recently with what appear to still have their original battery and it still holds a charge to some extent. Changing that battery requires patience and some skill.

Your transmission is breaking up, you need another repeater station

Nearly all chinese made cells dont even work well as slingshot ammo. Their average density is to light to provide any kinetic energy downrange.

They work quite well as rifle targets though. Smile

What did you find inside when you cut open those Brown & Gold wrapped 4000 ma cells?

They tested 700ma on hobby charger. When cut I was disappointed not to find a miniature cell or white powder, just a plain low capacity cell. No matter how hard I shook it, the other missing 3300ma were never found along with vent or PTC. Over and under charge protection were also clearly printed on wrapper in engrish, lol.

@ Pilchman; Do you not have battery disposal stations at schools or big box stores like Lowes or across the pond equivalent?

Maybe even those that know these cells can't be real at 4000mAh 4800mAh 5800mAh, still hope for 3000mAh or something. Vent and protection circuit are like on different plane.

My very first light, 502B, came with these instead of the red wrapper 3000ma shown. I knew nothing and did not do my homework…

If your 18650s don’t weight 47-48 grams then you probably should toss them out. Thats the average weight of a legit 18650 cell, bet the ultraultrafires is like 20 grams

Latest type of CN fake, German Certification, TUV  Thüringen  4800mAh

Even at 2C (9.6A) the voltage stay high, at 90% of the capacity the cell is at 3.3V

WRT Amazon destrying counterfeit inventory from their fulfillment centres it might get a bit interesting if they try to destroy Lion cells supplied by some fraudster or other.

One review says:

"I have to say that these batteries drain quicker than my bathwater!!! They are ok maybe for absolute emergencies but not as your main battery rotation. My olight m21 has one and a half hours on max power with nitecore battery, however these only give ten minutes..... Enough said chaps."

Others are happy with their product.

You can see in the post below yours that now they do fake TUV Certifications  for fake 4800mAh, so they may learn from this post and grind some lead into that powder to make sure they are 45g at least.

The Chinese can duplicate any criteria that you use to verify whether a cell is authentic or not, except capacity.

A crack team of heavily armed Chinese mercenaries needs to be dispatched to eliminate all those connected in the manufacture of crapfire cells.

We would be lucky to bruise them if we send chinese mercenaries with chinese weapons & bullets. Can we pay for something better?

Testimonial from another forum about an 3200mAh Ultrafire cell:

"At 1 amp, i can only get 100 mah before hitting 3.0v from 4.2v.. at 2 amps. faghetaboutit.."

Cut an UltraFire cell, which claimed it was protected. Trying to find a protection board inside the cell is kind of absurd anyway.
