2 for $7.07 ...not bad....

They will not be 4000mAh.

Yes, definitely they are not 4000 mAh as claimed... but how much do u think is actual capacity?

That's about what I would expect if they are decent cells.

I always guess 1300mah. that seems to be standard for many over-rated cells.

According to a CPF thread, "Result, each cell tested between 1200 and 1600mAh, and evey cell showed severe voltage depression when ran at currents above 1A."

So, total crap, and with that much variation, probably reclaimed laptop cells.

For decent cells, try the protected Trustfire black/flame design ones. They're reasonably cheap for an honest 2400mah capacity.

For the highest capacity cells you can get, try "RedForest UK" or "xxllmm4", both users here on BLF. These are genuine 3100mah cells, the best currently available. (Yes, anything else rated over 3000mah (and even most things rated 3000mah) is purely imaginary)

Buy them and let us know how bad they really are

You get the second one for half price and both for half the mah (if you are lucky). lol. Pay a few $$$ more and get something decent. xtar's are good value imo.

Given that these things are potentially dangerous, saving a few dollars is probably not a smart idea if you value your livelihood..

IMO the best value on the market is the HI-Max 2600 at about $6ea shipped. I have not heard any complaints about this battery and in my tests they put out anywhere from 2200mah @ 5A to 2500mah @ .5a One other Thing I should mention is there are probably 1000 Trustfire 2400 flame batteries sold to 1 Hi-Max battery. So it may not be fare to say their are no complaints.

The XTAR 2600 is based on a Sanyo cell and in the long run is probably going to be a longer lasting cell but it is more money. Just a couple you should look into. Any cell based on a Sanyo, Panasonic, Samsung,LG, or Sony is probably going to be good.

Sanyo probably knows more about batteries than anyone else. Hopefully their cells ought to be about the best out there - their NiMH cells certainly are.

Sony, not so much. How many million cells did they recall a couple of years ago? If any of those are still in the supply chain, you really, really don't want them. Hopefully they have got their act sorted out now, but I'd want a lot of evidence before I bought Sony cells

Or Sony anything - you pay quite a lot for the name. IMO the last good thing they did was Trinitron monitors. Their 80's shortwave radios were pretty good - I still have one dating from 1985 which is my most used radio. But it cost as much as a good TV when I bought it.

Where can i get the best prices on the Hi-Max and Ex-Cell 2600 cells?

You can buy the Hi-Max only in ebay and there is only one seller.

Very well said. Could not agree more.

you'll need a nice charger to burn down the house with too >>I love the description that says ..3.7 volt Nimh battery charger tose are some serious nickel metal batteries :p

I never thought of that... I wonder if that is why so many of the fake, relabeled batteries I have opened up are Sony's??

OH dear! spam boy is every where.

Hey I put up the spam pic and his post disappeared! Real tin Spam is like Kryptonite to them!

Marc.

Oh yeah, Go for XTARs

my sony 5 channel receiver from the early 90s still rocks. So does the original remote, despite being dropped countless times. And, I leave it on 24/7 set to about 5 on the volume so that I can adjust volume from my PC.

I'll never buy another sony automotive deck though. I double checked those already ;)

4000mAh for 18650? Just no way (for current technology).
