Nice! I think we can thank Jim @ Manafont for this one. I suspect he probably negotiated a special deal with the manufacturer to provide this barn burner with our preferred mode arrangement.
Great now I have to find someone to buy my 5 mode when one when it finally shows up so I can get the 3 mode one I really want. I have it is driven the same on high as the 5 mode version.
I don't think Sky Ray would wanna jeopardise the sales so i guess its still 2.5A with good cells @ 4.2V. There is only 1 of this kind in the market.......together with the Fandyfire, which is not as popular it seems esp over at CPF Budget Lights forum.
Actually, with this kind of light, I like strobe. Put it on your vehicle, warn others of any dangers or your presence. Very wide coverage as well but with enough "punch" out to 300m easily.
If you wanna SOS in the forest, definitely use this and not a XR-E R2 on a 42mm reflector. LOL!
Goddammit, just after I order the 5 mode. Does it at least have proper mode memory so I can comfort myself with the though I won't have to constantly go through the strobes?
Unfortunately, it's not DX which probably hasn't even shipped it after a week and I could cancel.

Ha ha it's even described as 'strobe-less' as I asked for in my message ;) I've only just got my internet fixed but it's now in my cart and about to be bought! I'm going away all next week though so I won't get it for a while..
This sealed the deal for me. I had to get a Ultrafire C88 as well so the Skyray isn't lonely all the way here. :)
