Price don't mean anything for my EDC.

Out of all the more expensive EDC Single AA, Single AAA, and CR123 lights i have, i have been pocketing the cheapest light i have in the class all week, a single AAA twistie single-mode that cost $ 1.68 on Ebay.
( i bought 10 of them when they were available)
and this one i’m carrying has a XP-G2 N/W swapped in.
While i carry this $1.68 light, my L10, MT1A, Tank009s, i3, Ti2, Ti, Tis, S15, S20, Mini-02, mini-01, SolitaireLED, LEDLenserG10, various sipiks, and other more expensive lights sit in the display cabinet awaiting their circulation turn at being my EDC for a week.

i bought myself the Ultrafire M5.

was free :D

LINKY?

sadly they are no longer available.
i wish they were, as i would buy another 20 of them. i really liked the quality for the price, and they came with a better tint & brighter than most of the cheapo “police” 2-dollar lights were all familiar with.

They were great little lights and yeah they were 1.68 ....Does yours have a smooth top like a mild dome or a raised one ?

I bought a bunch of them too and kept one with a much warmer tint than the others ..Even with a bad chinese emitter it was a nice light . the reason I didn't buy more was they changed the top and raised the price .

Mine has a pattern on the back, sort of like a 3-point star sort of.

I like the clip.

So we got this thread, and then we got that other thread with millions of flashlights on shelves.

I had one of those I got 2 or 3 years ago. Its a Lanshi IIRC. Sturdy little light. I had it fall out of my pocket at 60mph on the bike. I went back and managed to find it a day or two later. It was a bit scuffed up from the fall and being run over an unknown amount of times but it still worked!

Cool, for an edc I really like an very lightweight light, one that I can barely feel in my shirt pocket. It seems this one would be like that. You probably don’t even notice you have it on you most of the time. I EDC one of those cheap AA “police” lights. It now has a nichia 219, an east driver, regular reflector and it now takes a 14650. I don’t even know it’s in my pocket. The power consumption is minimal yet it’s still bright enough for anything inside or for simply walking around outside.

A good EDC should not be noticeable when you carry it. That’s my theory anyway.

I wish I could find those. I also would buy several.
Currently my EDC is a Tank 007 TK-701. More often I carry the Tank 007 E09. They are reliable, small, light and not very expensive. But more than $1.68. :frowning:

I posted another thread looking for inexpensive AAA lights.

Jerry

My AAA lights are almost all Smiling Shark SS-5039s, with a few 5038s and 5049s. Banggood is still the cheapest source I know. They are not bad as they come, for around $3, but I put better emitters and sometimes better boost drivers in them. The ones I carry myself are direct drive with lithium ion 10440 cells. For high output, they need a snug fitting metal star and preferably a snug fitting metal pill. My highest output one has a reflector from a Black Cat, after I partly melted the plastic reflector. See my thread on it for details.
I like them, in spite of the plastic works, because of the nice curves and finish. Very nice to hold. All the cylindrical AAA lights get very boring. They are not the smallest, but the head has plenty of metal to distribute heat, it you can get it from the LED to the head.

Sadly these lights i posted in the OP have not been available for some time, along with the other Pailide AA Twisties that i found for under 2 bucks. I believe the maunufacturers realize they cant make any profit from selling these for at these below-2 dollar prices, so they stop making them instead of raising the price a bit.
