Fenix released a AAA battery flashlight last month,weights 32 grams,max 85 lumens,three brightness level.
Oooo, very pretty. Wonder if it runs on a 10440? SS doesnt do well with heat so probably not…
Be aware that this light DOES have a stepdown in high. It steps down from high (85 lumens) to medium (25 lumens) after three minutes. Fenix is not terribly forthcoming about this.

Stainless steel + stepdown kills it dead for me.
Need an aluminum version with an accessible pill (no glue!).

8, 25, and 85 lumens vs 27 lumens for the original
Single AAA battery, same as the original
Slightly taller than the original
No dispersion lens so more throw & spill than original
NW vs CW spectrum for the original
Usual Fenix quality, spare o-ring but a little light on the thread grease
No memory, starts at 8 lumens
Twist switch operation same as original
Quick twists to change modes - less than one second
Rolls very well, same as original
Tail stands, similar design to E01 so not quite as st…
Still has 3 minute step down from high to medium.
