They aren't all the same!

It seems that these days many of us on this forum are having disappointing experiences with one online seller or another. So I think it is important to also recognise the positive experiences that we have from time to time.

This leads me on to Hank at Intl-Outdoor store. I have placed about 30 orders with his business now and he has been extremely helpful the whole time. He usually replies to my emails within 10-30 minutes, he has allowed me to make special orders with C8s, dropins with different drivers to the normal ones etc. I know that their shipping times aren’t always the quickest but any time something has taken a while to arrive Hank has actually recommended that I file a PP dispute to protect myself which has always been closed as soon as the items arrive. But recently one experience topped them all. I had ordered and paid for a replacement TN31 MCPCB with XM-L2 direct from Thrunite for my Trustfire X9 build. Over a week after I had paid them they told me they had run out of the 1A tint they told me they had in stock and they were going to refund my money. I contacted Hank to see if he could get a hold of any 32mm Copper MCPCBs to which he promptly replied that he couldn’t. I explained what I was wanting to do and he offered for me to get Thrunite to post the blank MCPCBs directly to him, he would flow the XM-L2 U2 1A onto the boards and then send them on to me. So he sent me his postal address and I have organised for Thrunite to send the blank boards straight to him!

This might seem like a small thing, but except for Mountain Electronics or Illum I can’t think of any other online sellers I have used who would offer to do this for me.

Anyway, that’s all I had to say, just wanted to come by and give IOS a plug as I believe that the good sellers out there should be known.

If you have had any really good experiences with some online sellers feel free to post your experience here.

IOS : Always perfekt they are great!

Hi,

Lighthound (lighthound.com) and md-ligthtsource.com have also been good for me (in the U.S.).

Also, though not for lights only, but for parts, Digikey (digikey.com) has been excellent. Same for ledsupply.com.

Again, all of these are in the U.S.

The disappointing experiences are usually with the Chinese vendors.
For folks outside the US there aren’t so many alternatives worth considering.
For example, a 3x D-cell Maglite with an old-fashioned incandescent lamp-bulb will cost me about $ 40.— here, through ‘normal’ EU or NL webshops.
