olight i3S red filter, any recommendations?

Hi, i’ve just gifted someone a olight i3S, as the light she had before was pretty rubbish
Anyway she’s training to be an officer at the military academy Sandhurst, as the torch is going to be mainly for map reading in the field,it needs to be red some of the time, but not all, so I can’t just change the lense to a red lense
Can anyone recommend one that fits over or a way to make one, as I can only find ones for larger lights.
I suggested a sweet wrapper and rubber band, but she wanted something a bit more designed for the job

Had a quick look but couldn’t find any. Don’t think there is one in that size.

You can be a real sweetie pie and make her a dual white and red light!

Hi, thanks for looking, yes I drew a blank when I looked, just nothing off the self available in that size

Not sure what you mean by a dual red/white one, sounds ideal, do you mean make two separate ones, one red and one white, or some sort of reversible one, which sounds perfect?

Although I have come up with a bit of a solution, which may be useful to others

I cut a circle the same size as the torch head from a sheet of 3 mm clear red acrylic sheet, I then wrapped two layers of electrical tape around the head and coated the tape with silicone lube.

I then Cut off 18mm from a length of heat shrink tubing that was slightly bigger than the diameter of the torch head

I then slipped the heat shrink tubing over the head and left 4mm protruding above the head of the torch
Then I put my circle of acrylic inside the heat shrink tube so it sat flat on the head of the torch
I then heated the heat shrink with my hot air gun so it contracted and held my circle of acrylic tightly

I then carefully slid the heat shrink, complete with acrylic lense, off of the head of the torch and unwrapped the tape from the head of the torch and disposed of the tape

Now the new red lense Can be put on or off the torch as needed and even when off the torch is very robust and hard to break in the field as it just pops back into shape being heat shrink

Obviously you could use the same method for any colour lense or diffuser

I use this on mine, I just cut the size I need.

I put it under glad press and seal for a diffuser.

A tank007 small sized red flashlight diffuser that sold separately as accessories for pa01,02,tk701,703,e07,e08 and e09 works as they have the almost same head diameter as i just compared mine, i will try to give a confirm reply soon as possible since i left my pa02 with diffuser in the car
