Just saw a bunch of new cheaper microtech knives at Manafont.

Microtech knives at manafont.

was looking at there and saw cheaper versions.

...

Why do they call them all the Infidel? The Infidel is a Benchmade model.

Does anyone have one of these microtech knockoffs? I am curious on the quality of these knives.

I have this one and it is awesome, definitely excellent quality snaps open and closed with authority. This knife is no joke it's the real deal get one now.

It seems that MF has plenty different models now. When I ordered they only had four. I don't know how much play good quality OTF knifes should/is allowed to have, but this has some side to side play. No play up and down however. The blade is very, I mean veeery dull as standard, but responses to sharpening quite well. I can't say anything about the blade steel. I'm not that expert. But as E said, it opens and closes firmly, and with power. Nothing lazy in action. Spring is loud and keeps vibrating for some time after opening/closing. I'd say it's worth it's price.

That model with full lenght plain and serrated edges would rock big time. That's what I would have like to have. It's wasn't available when I ordered mine. I ordered all plain edge model but got this where both egdes are half plain half serrated. Damn, do I need to order another? Maybe golden? Must resist the urge!! Must resist...

Yea I saw them and wondered though what does MF put on the customs form on the package? I wouldn't want any problems.

Thanks

I think it said electronics or toys on it, but switchblades are legal in New Hampshire so it would not matter if it got opened. The only package I ever had opened was one from DX that had about 5 knives jammed in it but they taped it back up and sent it I can't remember what it said on it. I don't have a youtube site but if you are super picky about your knives don't buy it it is not perfect it has some play in the blade, but for the money it is a great deal a local shop sells them for $85 dollars. I have a lot of knives many expensive ones also and this is by far my favorite.

Yeah, the package said "toys and electronics". Automatic knifes are highly illegal here, but mine came with no problem.

I was actually looking for a cheap version of the MT, as I already have about a dozen real MT's and Protech's etc; but I'm tired of spending so much money on them. I live in FL and have a CCW so I can legally purchase AND carry them concealed. The issue I was concerned with, is it 's against Federal laws to import them, even across State lines can get you into trouble; but once it gets here, then no worries. So if they don't declare it as such, then that would be good :)

Thanks

can anyone tell the diff between the cheaper 1s and the higher priced models. which should i get?

what about this one?

benchmade infidel at MF @$49.50

The benchmade looks to be pretty good. Anyone with first hand experience?

just ordered one of the microtechs from Manafont. Figured I'd give it a shot for the $30. If it's junk, atleast i'll have a relatively cool letter opener...

Let us know how it goes, I've got the real MT's and was thinking about ordering one of these for grins. I wouldn't feel so bad knocking around with it for the price paid, compared to the $500+ I paid for the real deal.

Now I want one....

It's late, I don't want to start a flame war or anything, but a VERY short Google search showed that a switchblade knife might not be listed as illegal in your state.

The B.A.T.F.&E. (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives), considers them illegal under U.S. Federal law. In addition it is clearly listed as a felony to ship switchblade knives to U.S. citizens other than military or Law enforcement personnel on U.S. soil.

I'll leave room to say that I am no expert. But I am a knife nut and have wanted a LEGAL switchblade my whole life, (I'm 55). I know a couple of ways how to get a switchblade.

I can carry a concealed pistol, I am a MO state CCW license holder. As a matter of fact, it isn't illegal to openly carry a holstered pistol in this state, but I haven't found a way to carry a switchblade and stay out of trouble too.

later,

Switchblades are legal in FL, but to carry you need to have a CCW. As for shipping them, it's a Felony to ship them across state lines and as well as to import them.

So it doesn't matter what State you live in, IF customs opens & inspects the package and finds a switchblade; you could easily be charged with a Felony, regardless of your local State laws.

Oh and it's completely illegal to ship them using the US Postal system even within your own State, that's another Felony.

Enjoy & Stay safe.
