Convoy L2 clone? Just wondering if anyone has this, it looks a lot like the Convoy L2 in size and shape. I’ve been trying to find one of these and may consider this light if it’s any good.

I can tell you are wanting to save some money, my friend, but these budget lights are simply not going to offer as much value as you’d think. This particular light will play in league with any well-driven HD2010. Very nice, but it’s big and the long mode-memory is annoying (have to wait more than 4 seconds to turn it back on to stay in high on subsequent activations - most of these “XINTD” lights are that way). That’s the way it ends up being with most any 8*7135 driver lights, it seems to me. They are bright and nice, but not as much of a value as what is below.
If it’s cheap throw you are after, I’d recommend the Yezl Y3, which I’m sure you’ve investigated thus far. I have found the build quality to be consistently better with these.

My SR51 is brighter than any other single-emitter light I own that is not modded. Yes, even the Maxtoch if I had to choose, although the Maxtoch will out-throw it. In terms of value, the main brands are going to be better options because the build quality will not vary. But let me say that I hold Maxtoch to be one of the best brands around.
If one member here has a good experience with one light, if it’s a budgeter, you have to be prepared to have someone else make a thread about the same light with next-mode memory problems, burring, bad reflector, cheap parts, or some other defect. You run the gamut of every which type of situation arising. I’d save the headache and pay a bit more.

The Yezl Y3, in its stock form, it is ok. PWM, for me is the deal breaker on this one. However, after replacing the stock XM-L2 with an MT-G2, I am willing to forgive the PWM for the great flood light it provides. I do have to say though, my Yezl Y3 has been very uncooperative when it comes to letting go of its brass rings, so hopefully the ones that are shipping now, are much more mod friendly.
Got the Dipper D19 and Convoy L2. The D19 is an exact clone with the exception of no AR lens. I am tempted to get another D19 so I can put a spare MT-G2 in there.
Also you are right about the LF D01. The finning in the head is more “bulky” than the L2/D19. It would be interesting to see the reflector’s dimensions though and see the pill area. If the pill is integrated into the head and you also have the option to screw in the LED (like you do with the L2/D19), then the LD D01 looks like a very cheap alternative to the D19, coming at $10 cheaper.
