There's a products update section on the Cree site, that teases you with short promises, but I am never able to find out the details because the links go to not updated datasheets . How do I find out when they claim (like today) "XM-L2: high-cri cool-white and brighter neutral-white options available" what tints, CRI and bins they are talking about???
Check page 16 on the XM-L (2) binning and labeling datasheet.
You can now see order codes for CW XM-L2`s with 85CRI minimum. I guess that qualifies as high CRI. Either way, I have not seen it before. T4 is the highest bin with that high CRI.
You can also see that "U2" is now an option for NW emitters. :) (Page 17)
This is good!
Strange that they have not added CW U3 though..
I hope IOS gets some CW 5700K T4 85+ CRI emitters. I would like to try one.
NW U2 emitters in the 4500/4750/5000K range would probably sell well. I guess T6 is now officially "outdated".
I have minimum 10 lights I would immediately update to U2 bin NW’s in the 4500-4750 range so that sounds great (plus some lights with stock U2 CW’s I would like to upgrade to NW but not with the current NW choices).
Whats up with the August red XP-E2 update? Need those too!!!
Thanks RaceR for diving into that, I did not see it. A 5700K 85CRI XM-L2 certainly has my attention, T4 bin tells me that the light loss really goes to good colour!
