I have a Trustfire 3t6 flashlight, would it be possible to deliver 12-14 volts from a 12 Volt gel cell being charged from a snowmobile magneto, direct to the head unit of the torch?
Wouild this have any effect on the units lifespan?

Why not look into an automotive HID replacement instead? They are plug and play, use only 35 watts, you get far more light and can select the tint you want, more reliable and they are designed for the application. DX, ebay and thousands of other places sell them online cheap and you can buy the ballast and bulb for just one headlight or in pairs. Something like this or similar.
