Olight M2X-UT GEN 2 led pcb pic

looks like lux-rc hd led,i am curius how they make it.

Sorry the pic is not so hot-but i opened up my new m2x-ut [E serial number] and it seems to be the updated model. First thing i noticed was the new copper pcb minus a thermal control circuit and a coated dedomed led [xpl ?] and unfortunately a missing pcb screw. Ok 1, tint looks better 2, on imr 30a efest 18650 i get 155kcd at 30 secs and 3 about 920 lumen at 30 secs. One more thing, on the plastic case is says customised cree led, not xml2 like the other ones i have seen.

I just ordered an M2X yesterday from Calvin at Ill. Supply. Maybe mine will come with this adaptation?

That is a copper MCPCB with no solder mask (solder resist), you see the dielectric layer and the copper traces over the dielectric layer, then the copper traces are of course finished in ENIG. The lack of solder mask and narrow traces it is not a thing to be enthusiastic for.

Per Olight, it should be an XP-L. Where did you order yours? I have the older version and would like to buy a newer one too. Keep in mind, per an email I received from Olight, the M3X-UT will be out this month.

I got mine here in australia [liteshop], i tried to get the F serial number model but its not available here yet, it was quite surprising to see the custom XP-L and new mcpcb. Its quite possible this pcb is direct thermal path and the old one was not.

you mean lux rc? from what he said on fonarevka, and his own site, it is basically chemical dedome xpg2- xpl, and latter recoated with special coating that does not affect tint, aka thin dome.

yeap ,we should find the materials he uses its really cool method and fit triple optics.

Got my M2X today. Calvin came through as always with two-day shipping instead of the standard five-day business.

Mine is with de-domed XM-L2. Tint isn't that bad as far as I can see now. On my sample, you can see quite a bit of de-dome damage around the LED compared to what others have reported, but I'm not worried. Needless to say, I look forward to playing with it tonight!

Just tried running the XP-L model on 2 x imr 18350s- wow, more power settles at 173 000cd after 30secs and 1000 plus otf lumens taken at 5m. When using a single imr 18650 i get 159 lux on my four bend pvc light box, at 30 secs on the 2 x 18350s i get 176 lux at 30 secs- yeah baby. Even when the 18350s are low at 3.7v resting voltage i still get 170lux on the pvc box. So it seems to like the higher voltage [which i have found is typical of broad voltage input lights] and i found the single cell 18650 imr at 4v resting starts to lose lux. As other members have stated and is written in Olights specs it ansi FL1 measurements were taken using 2 x cr123, My new favourite.

Seems like you’d achieve the same increase with the extension tube and 2 x 18650, and have a much longer runtime. Of course the light would be longer.

Like this model so i got two-both xpl,s, but not for long, muhaha.

While im waiting for some noctigon 32mm pcbs and xpg2s to arrive, i have removed the flat dome skin from one of the m2x,s [ i use prepsol] and slightly sanded back the centering disc to see if i could gain anything? Well did i what, using 2 x imr 18350,s i get 215kcd and 191 lux in the pvc lightbox versus the other stock one at 173kcd and 176 lux.[ all measurements taken at 30 secs] Just a comment on the xpl led, it has a thin covering [silicone skin?] that taperers down to the edge of the substrate, which seems different to the new high intensity xpl with noticeably square edges to its silicon skin . Just a guess- i think this was dedomed and skinned by Olight with the normal xpl because of the high lumens i get . Just as a comparison with the Thrunite TN32 on level 5 [1132 lumen] shows 195 lux [m2x ut 191]on the same pvc lightbox.

Does anyone know are these new ones dedomed by olight xp-l or allready without dome from cree xp-l hi ?

As of this moment they are XPL HI - every item has a various bin and tint : my experience- 6 orderes pieces last 2 motnths, both from BG CN and BG EU store( they were in the EU store for a week or so)

M3X UT on the other hand uses dedomed HPL V5 1A

Also- the PCB is different, plus the emitter fixing is different too: looks like this

This could change in upcoming item revisions ofc

Is there tactical remote switch available for this m2x?
